Ultra wacky food idea!!!

What if ...

Everything is food but hunger drain is three times as fast and your pip bar is infinite.   

All hand-held items can be consumed for a reasonable pip value based on size.

Leaf - 1 pip
Round rock - 2 pips
Steel hoe - 14 pips
Pumpkin - 20 pips
Dug big rock - 60 pips
Horse - 80 pips
Horse cart - 160 pips

The world is your buffet.   Your hunger is insatiable.    THE BEAST MUST FEED.

To be fair the newest idea has some fun that can occur. Chubby babies and fat bakers waddling around in the bakery to make more pies to eat is maximum levels of roleplay.

Fat babies who tip back over due to their little leggies not being able to support the chubsters at the fire = a good time. Movement penalties for carrying around fat babies? Definitely sign me up.

Treadmill buildings to help our fat friends get back trim means I'll be making a killing in game with gyms. There's clearly no downsides besides people feeding others but that could be disabled.

Though I guess it would be fun to spam eat everything.

Lol. Love this.

I have thought that horses, dogs, wolves, and bears should have been edible for a long time. Yes im a monster but if i was starving and it was life or death i wouldnt hesitate to eat a horse or dog.

If you chew rocks long enough, they become sand and sand it part of dirt.  And gooseberries grow from dirt.

Basically the same thing, when you think about it.

The biggest problem is that I think we'd have to change trees to have a limited number of leaves.  Otherwise, we'd have to deal with a bunch of lazy leaf-munchers who do nothing but spend their lives standing around eating leaves and talking.

God ... I hate those lazy leaf munchers.     They never do any work, so everyone else has to dig up the big rocks and plant the pumpkins.

You're right.   What was I thinking.  This is a terrible idea.

I guess I didn't think it through all the way.   

...

But it's fine.   Let's do it anyways and work it out in later updates.

Alternative idea: we all devolve into crude giraffe people who stand around eating leaves.

Could be a cool spin off game. Imagine a world with 20x the amount of predators all tracking you while you and your family of giraffes try to stick together and keep your family going.

Oh and maybe the predators and giraffes are all different players. So you could spawn in as a predator sometimes and prey other times.

That's fine, you wouldn't need them for anything else anyway. No farming tools left? No problem! Just eat the dirt and seeds, it's the same thing anyway!

The more I think about it, the more I realize that all problems can be solved by making more things edible.

Infinite leaves are a problem?   Solution - make trees edible.
Griefers keep eating your favorite axe?   Solution - make griefers edible.
Don't like being trapped in a small box with ravenous cannibals?  Solution - make the Rift edible.

There is no problem so big it can't be eaten.

Sounds like a crazy mash-up between the game Shelter (where you play as a mother badger protecting her young) and the game Left 4 Dead's multiplayer Versus mode, where the zombie team players hunt the survivor team during a zombie apocolypse.
