So fun Idea, put a transmitter an receiver outside of your gate as a doorbell and translator along with a lock box. "put all swords in lock box an close it, then we will let you in" or " If you wish to enter put all weapons in lock box and bring basket of iron or pies" or even "sorry we don't allow outsiders if you continue to linger you will be executed for trespassing" lol Idk just a thought.

Cool idea, though I doubt anyone will care enough to do this. The most I can imagine is a piece of paper saying they don't accept strangers. Villages now all have their own great walls, its just not worth the risk to allow anyone but a baby into your city. Most people kill anyone even relatively close by and loot them, it's way easier than having to trust them.

Yea also I think roads on the city gate is an awful idea!! so many times ive been running or see someone running from outside only to open gate but be unable to close it on time because the road sweeps them away.
