Re: Is this legal? Yay or nay?

LMAO, the "Misleading" advertising shows a person dropping dead and it saying "Don't forget to eat"

Well, game, set, and match, the update didn't make the advertising misleading.

Re: Is this legal? Yay or nay?

Huh, would you look at that. I hadnt watched the trailer in a long time, or the second video ever, but this only confirms my feelings about the new update. While eve is not supplied with clothes at the beginning, he clearly intended for us to wear some clothing before we even consider farming. You dont see any advanced workstations without buildings and heat sources and what? a bunch of fully clothed people. Now a lot has changed since those days, you will not have a full set of rabbit fur clothes as eve or her children, but we do have straw hats, reed skirts and clubbed seals.

Not to mention to sign up to this forum you need your 'secret phrase' and pretty damn sure you only get one per purchase. Unless it allows you to make more than one profile, idk but i damn sure didn't purchase this shit twice to make a new profile.

ALSO i am not phased by ass lickers. Why would i make a new profile to begin with?

Re: Is this legal? Yay or nay?

Uffffff. Thank god nobody has realized that i ''promised'' one hundred new craftable objects every week. Yeah, yeah, now you will say that if i'm fixing bugs and changing the meta i'm not adding new content. You guys cry a lot, you cry so much that i'm going to nerf the ponds because you are refilling them all time with your tears. There are a lot of games much more harder than this, age of empires, starcraft, league of legends, civilization, call of duty, battlefield, etc, etc, etc. In this game you only play with the mouse, don't take it so seriously, it has a mobile version too! You already payed for the game so you are not contributing anymore to my wallet, we live in a capitalism world stop complaining, that doen't makes me win more money.

Re: Is this legal? Yay or nay?

I kinda get that, but at the end of the day I dont want 100 new random craftable objects a week. I want updates that use however many craftables it takes to  make that particular extension to the game. I dont think anyone could keep up with the game at exactly 100 new items a week. Even if you make all of those things, you still dont know what the meta around it will be. Small updates elicit complaints that he isn't adding enough, and big ones upset a large minority of people who didn't like that their favorite feature went away or is obsolete or whatever else they dislike about it. Even Jason doesn't know exactly how things will go after an update, and unforeseen emergent phenomena is a real pain to contend with. The current release model makes sense for one person doing all of the development and management of a game like this. ***Obvious troll is obvious, but I still feel that a rebuttal has to be made. The trailer does say 100 items a week, but a year later it just doesn't make sense to do that.***

Can confirm, multiple forum accounts are possible.

I think you'd make a new profile to make it seem like somebody else agrees with you. You sure came pretty quick and responded strongly as soon as somebody suggested it.

Re: Is this legal? Yay or nay?

Just for the record I dont think it's illegal. Maybe a little misleading, showing modern and future technology when could only reach the iron age on launch.

But is the trailer legally binding?

If i remember correctly, I was told I was buying.

Lifetime access to servers and to all future versons.

Tech support.

You can't really expect him to add only content without bugfixing and balancing as he goes.

People like rage is why I dislike America. Just looking for an excuse to sue you for your money.

Jason takes 20$ that you willingly gave him. You try and take several thousand or even millions from him.

Re: Is this legal? Yay or nay?

I have no comment with respect to the legality of this.  I am not a lawyer and I'm not sure which jurisdiction this would get evaluated in if there existed a legal case.

That said, changing jungles and deserts is NOT adding new stuff.  Nor is changing how flooring works and VERY SLIGHTLY changing how clothing works adding new stuff.

"As players continue climbing up through the tech tree, I'll be staying one step ahead of them by adding new stuff to the game every week"  Jason Rohrer 2:08-2:15 in this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mT4JktcVQuE

Well, what did Jason do?  As his own post explains, he *revamped* the thermal model:

JasonRohrer wrote:

So, how could I fix this?  A different thermal model of course, but what model?  And if I wanted both hot and cold biomes (which make a lot of sense), how could I prevent exploitation of the boundaries?

https://onehouronelife.com/forums/viewtopic.php?id=5304

I don't see that revamping the thermal model adds any new stuff.  It just changes how old stuff works.  That's it.  That's all I see.

So, for anyone who thinks this post doesn't have any merit, then please answer this: what new stuff got added by the 'temperature overhaul' update?  Remember, no new clothes, flooring, doors, or walls got added.  So exactly what stuff got added to the game that wasn't there before?

But he said he would add new stuff *every week*.  So, of course, then one CAN REALLY expect to add new stuff every week.
