Town Location Question

If I start at -28003, -26699 and the town I want to go to is located at -26891,-27224-does that mean I need to travel north east in order to get to the town? Are the differences between coordinates tiles?

Those are the true coordinates in relation to each other on the map. To go from (-28003, -26699) to (-26891, -27224) it means you would be traveling east 1112 tiles and south 525 tiles to get between the towns. Ideally this should be done be moving diagonally to cut out some of the walking in the process.

Always remember things are based on an x axis (west vs east) and y axis (north vs south) bigger negative numbers means to go south and west while smaller numbers will mean you want to go north + east.
