... and I had such a fun run of games today.
I was born to an eve in the most amazing town I've ever seen. It had a school with notes to teach new players, everything was organised, there were like twelve full crocks of sauerkraut next to the pie station. My first children played with playing cards with grandma. I ate my first mushroom. By the time I died the berry field was filled with women and children and the bushes were dying. Someone replaced the carrot patch with more berries too. And they kept dying, not knowing that there was food all over to be found.
Another game I played tonight I ran out and started a wheat field (for the first time!) and tried to make pies. There was a massive berry patch and it kept getting bigger. I ran around asking who wanted to learn wheat and pies, and tried to teach as I made them. For the first time I was the old lady teaching people to do things. Kids were starving left and right as the berries were all plucked clean. I must have said "always leave some wheat for seeds" a dozen times. Just before I died I ran past my wheat field and saw a girl cut them all down.
On the other hand as a newish player I am having soooo much fun. I made it to 60 for the first time as eve and even though it was just a small basic camp I was so proud. Three of my children died to rattlesnake bites and I was the only one left in the end. I abandoned so many boys but I was too scared to keep so many children around.

Glad you are enjoying! I'm happy to hear you are teaching pies and wheat. If there is something you can do very well, surely pass it on! Many people are eager to learn pies, they are really fun.

A baker makes mutton pies, sometimes rabbit ones and sometimes bread. An experienced baker also makes berry, carrot, berry carrot, rabbit carrot, rabbit berry carrot as well but this is of course dependent on the berry and carrots being done well oh and buttered bread! This is without including cooking mutton on the oven, also doable! - Variety = calorie bonus, calorie bonus = less food eaten and longer periods between meals. Only nubs sit in the berry fields like locusts. Glad you enjoyed it so far, expect the worst from your fellow new players, try to teach them the best!
