Re: Can we have a dead baby counter?

Well 9/10 times I'm born to someone out in the forest that abandons me or a civ that can't afford to feed me or just someone that sucks at mothering. That's a lot of dead babies.

Right? If we had a counter for this, we could really see just how bad this issue was.

It would actually be interesting to see it decrease in time. Compare it vs age of mother, number of siblings, proximity to civilization, etc...

Re: Can we have a dead baby counter?

I've had times where my mother got too old feed me and I starved before she realized. I normally get an "oh shit" out of them before  I die. I recently found out that you can babies regular food so it's all the more painful when I starve to death in a huge carrot field.

At the rate its going, the memorial that would need to be built for the amount of dead babies would be bigger than the game world.
Which is what, 10 times the size of Jupiter something like that?  According to a video I saw Jason interviewed in on ewetube.

On about five occasions, I see this happen, either as the mother, or as the grandpa, and rush off to find food to feed the baby if possible, especially if its a female
for lineage reasons.  One time the mother died picking up a baby, and i fed her until she could feed herself.  Feels good man.

Re: Can we have a dead baby counter?

Actually we would just need a log of the deaths and births and we could compile interesting stats.

#2342 gave birth to #7897
#2342 gave birth to #7800
#7897 died at 0
#7800 died at 3

Let us manage the rest.

Re: Can we have a dead baby counter?

A dead baby counter seems like too much of a challenge to griefers, to me.  We don't want 4chan-style "10000 GET" nonsense with people trying to kill as many babies as possible.

That said, my day job is as a data scientist.  I am a data junkie.  I would be more than happy to run any kind of large-scale report on (sanitized/anonymized) server data, to generate some reports.  I have access to hadoop clusters at my work, and my employer is (usually) fine with me running hobby data through them, since 9/10 times any tools I end up developing to facilitate that kind of stuff will prove useful for my actual job as well.
