I tried it with him, me on the computer and her on her laptop but it never loaded. I think it’s because we both use the same account on different devices. Is this true, or is there some other difficulty? We both entered the same pin. Is there a way jason could change to detect other devices trying to log in or do we need to buy another account? Either way, the friends update looks really fun.

I thought it was gonna be a joke about how you are an only child or you had no friends or something similar .
Also calling one phone from the other, putting them both on speaker and making eerie echos through the lag in the cell network is fun.
Even if no one but me is entertained..

Yeah, you can't share accounts and play at the same time.
That's what you're paying for: a server account.

An idea how to increase game popularity:
Allow people to invite friends to play with them as twins+, without requirement for invited people having an account. That may help to viral the game. People that like the experience will still need an account to play it on their own. I think this model worked fine for e.g. Starcraft.
INB4: Griefing problems can be solved easily by curse point accumulating on host's account.

That is a good idea. I don't think it would cost you a lot on your end either.

I've never heard of multiple systems.
The proposed method is likely to be abused. If you want to play a game, you have to pay.

Can you elaborate why? If you worry about noobs, they may be forced to finish tutorial first.

It can also be used to introduce game to new players.
If you want to play a game, you have to pay.
There are demo versions for a lot of games that let you try it first.
