Injuries, scars and mutations!

Want to watch a crazy lady play god for a bit? Sure! Here are my creations!

But in all honestly, I think every life should be uniqe so I dabbled with the idea of mutations and other such things to possibly make every life different. I don't even know if anyone other than myself like this idea or if it will ever be implimented but it was still fun to work on (:

MUTATIONS

Keep in mind that mutations are supposed to be hard to live with, like in real life. Also that you would only be able to survive with a mutation if you live in a big town with lots of people eager to help you, also like in real life.

ALBINISM

Bino

Rarity - 3%
Effect on the gameplay - None
Visible at - Birth
Other - None

AMPUTEE - ARM

Armputee

Rarity - Female - 3% Male - 5%
Effect on the gameplay - You can't hold big things like tools, babies, carts, baskets, rocks and animal babies.
Visible at - Birth
Other - None

AMPUTEE - LEG

Legputee

Rarity - 2%
Effect on the gameplay - You can't walk without the help of another person. If helped, you walk slower.
Visible at - Birth
Other - Higher tech civs could possibly make a prostetic leg making the person be able to walk on their own but still very slowly.

DWARFISM

Dwarf

Rarity - 1%
Effect on the gameplay - Can't hold carts.
Visible at - ~Age 10
Other - They look really silly (:

BLINDNESS

Blindie

Rarity - 0.5%
Effect on the gameplay - You can't see anything but your player model and what it is holding, your hunger bar and the heat scale.
Visible at - Birth
Other - None

DEAF

Rarity - 2%
Effect on the gameplay - You can not see speech bubbles.
Visible at - Not visible
Other - D should be the codeword for deaf so people don't think you are rude when you dont respond to what they're saying.

FATHER SYNDROME

Rarity -  1%
Effect on the gameplay - You can have babies but you can not breastfeed.
Visible at - ~14, although no physical changes are present
Other - Only affects males.

BABY CANNON SYNDROME

Rarity - 5%
Effect on the gameplay - No birth cooldown, higher tier baby priority
Visible at - ~14, although no physical changes are present
Other - Thanks YAHG

INJURIES AND SCARS

I think it should show when you've gotten patched up from a nasty stab wound. That's all.

STAB WOUND SCAR

Stabbystab

ARROW WOUND SCAR

Bowybow

BEAR BITE SCAR

Bitybite

SNAKE BITE SCAR

Biteybite

HOG BITE AMPUTATION

OuchiePouchie

Same rules apply as with the mutated form.

And that's it! Let me know what you think about this idea and how I can improve on it. And thanks to whoever made the picture of the aging brown chick I have saved on my computer, I used it quite alot!

Re: Injuries, scars and mutations!

Amputee isn't a mutation but other ones are cool.

Maybe add "Baby Cannon": No birth cooldowns and higher tier baby priority <3

Im calling it a mutation for convenience.

And the baby cannon would be very inconvenient and very fun, I'm adding ti to the list.

Re: Injuries, scars and mutations!

I swear the 'Baby Cannon' idea is already in the game. Some lives I've fired out so many little humans in quick succession , I always end up calling the last one Goosey.

''Cause I'm as loose as a goose''  ^^

Re: Injuries, scars and mutations!

Would be kinda interesting if albinism had a side-effect while in the desert, since they tend to have a bit more of a sensitivity to strong sunlight. Maybe they walk slower, or their hunger goes down faster [only when on desert tile / their temperature gauge is hot?]

Albinos are functionally blind. Also, nystagmus.

EDIT: That's why pictures of albino people generally have derpy eyes.

It WOULD be gamey as shit, but random traits would be kinda cool?

Some people faster etc. some people infertile etc.

Re: Injuries, scars and mutations!

i like scars and missing limbs!  however being born with defects wouldn't go over too well with the player base, imo.

Re: Injuries, scars and mutations!

Pretty cool, but if you end up disabled on your first ever life you're gonna be really confused. Maybe it should be a lesser percentage? I know that wouldn't be true to real life but for the sake of the game.

Also I'm not sure everyone will take kindly to you saying having dwarfism makes one look silly tongue

Yeah I thought about the new player thing. I’m not really sure what to do about that.
And I only said they were silly cause the player model really does look very silly and nobody can tell me otherwise

Absolutely! Mutations are awesome! I love games with proper Mendelian genetics. (Sims 2 style, not the garbage Sims 4 has.)

Re: Injuries, scars and mutations!

Baby cannon and Father syndrome could be useful in certain situations.

Like if a towns nearly out of girls it would be a godsend to have a baby making man or an extra fertile girl. Would be annoying in all other circumstances unless you really like raising babies. Their should be one that stops women from ever having kids or gives them extremely low fertility.
