My life as a not so skilled mediator

I was Love, daughter of Pieper. Pieper was a good mom, always wanted to make sure all her kids had backpack. It was nice, until it became an obsession. One time, I stumbled upon her with a bow and she told me :
“I’m gonna kill Aki”
“Oh, but why ?” I said.
“He stole the backpack that was for your sister, Beyonce.”
That didn’t seemed like a good reason to me, she could have tried to speak with Aki first.

I then saw Aki with a bow, north of the town. I warned him about my mother. But he knew damn well what was her intentions. I didn’t know what to do. I wanted a peaceful town so badly. Killing for revenge just called for more killing for revenge, I knew that.
I went back to my mother.
“If you see Aki” she said “Tell me where he is so I can kill him”
“Mom, don’t do that. It’s a bad idea. Please mom !”
“But he want to kill me” she argued.
“Oh. Then, north.” I said with remorse. I felt like it’s all I could do to save her.

I found Aki before my mom in the east part of the town. I begged him to not kill my mother.
“But she wants to kill me”
The issue was now clear. Things escalated too quickly for the both of them.
“Because you want to kill her” I said.
“No, because I stole a backpack to her daughter”
“Yeah, I know” I said.“
“But her daughter died, and Pieper already had a backpack, so I didn’t steal.”
“I’ll speak with her”
“Thank you”

Going back to my mom, I explained the situation. She said the backpack was for my (still alive) sister after her other baby died. My sister Beyonce.
“If he gives the backpack to Beyonce, can you two stop ?”
At this moment if I recall correctly, Aki came to us saying “I come in peace”. But my mom started to chase the poor guy. I screamed “Mom stop ! Stop the nonsense !”.
Aki had left, I didn’t know where.
“Mom if he gives the backpack to Beyonce. It’s cool ?”
“Ok…” she said.
I went for him but all I could find was his corpse. He couldn’t come back to eat because of the fight with my mom.

I paid my respects, took the backpack and found my sister Beyonce. I gave it too her.
“Mom wanted you to have it”
She took it gleefully.
“Thank you !!!!”
She clearly had no idea about the all the drama she caused and it made me laugh.
I came back to my mother and told her what happened.
“Good” she said, her mind at peace. I was still sorry for Aki but I kept it to myself. It didn’t mattered anymore.

Pieper was a really good mom and I loved her with all my heart. Even if I disagree with killing when speech can fix it all. If mom or Aki see this and don’t recall it the same way, I apologise for my bad memory. So much happened in this life!
