So, I rode around this circle on a horsecart only, which you can see in the following videos. I did NOT move off the roads, except at points where it seems clear that I did so. But, it looks like my character and her horse teleports and runs through the grassland area inside of that circle.
I think our guess ended up being was that it was some sort of effect induced, since Universe is in Michigan, I'm in Ohio, and our third player is in the Netherlands, because the effect didn't occur when our third player had died, and it was just Universe and myself.
