#1 Re: Main Forum » What was your hook? » 2021-07-02 09:38:33

I watched my friend play at her house but she had such a bad bouncing lag she would constantly starve.  So I eventually bought the game, and unbeknownst to me it was during the chaos of the first apocalypses in 2018 when they were happening one after another.
So I'm thinking, great I bought a shit game.
Anyway the apocalypse situation got fixed and I was able to play.  Game ran much smoother for me, and the first couple of times I played I was eve just wandering around, figuring out how to pick up stuff, ran into a bear cave but actually died from snake bites.
Then I got born finally, and I was put by a fire with loads of carrots everywhere.  I was kidnapped....I didn't know you could jump from peoples arms....and stabbed. Not a great experience.
What hooked me actually, was my friend bringing her computer to my house and we played on low pop server learning the game, trying to see how long we could make our lineage.  We'd play for hours when we could, all day sessions when it worked for our schedules.
I remember getting that satisfaction of finally making an ingot, and again when I forged my first hammer.  We eventually figured out that when we got to be about 37, one of us would be born to the other, then as moms we would try to die so we could spawn back as eve with the other still being a baby from previous mum.
I learned quite a lot and quickly doing this, so whenever I did play with others I was proficient at starting from scratch.
Eventually corn was added, then reworking of heat and how to make wells... etc, etc, all of the changes I would go back to low pop to learn and then when I felt confident, I'd play in general.
I have fond memories of those days!

Still as dependable as ever, old faithful, erupting around 17 times a day.  What a great mascot dodge!

Infantilism, another classic.  You are as predictable as the moon orbiting earth.  Thanks for being banal as ever.

Oh yeah triggered people like you and slinky reee all the time.

They cant have an actual discussion and prefer to bash down everything they dont like by screaming at it, very childish, grow up.

Ageism, classic.  Again, get a hobby.

Triggered? You're obviously the one triggered about this whole topic otherwise you wouldn't post here, since you have nothing more interesting to say...

*yawn* see slinkies post, you'll understand it perfectly.

You think i'm stressed over this? That's cute

Maybe you picture yourself in that situation and that causes you stress, just a wild guess

Yes, otherwise, why.do.you.care? What is your goal with this irrelevance?

I suppose you're right Destiny.  I worry about someone who gets stressed at a situation that they were never involved in, the situation has been over for days, and not even remotely a victim of the circumstances.
Just seems confrontational and sensationalized for no known conclusion.

*claps* congratulations you win! You win the grand prize of hopefully reaching a point. Replied within 7 minutes.  So many hobbies, such importance.

#13 Re: Main Forum » Super questions for enlightened folk » 2021-06-18 18:40:24

1) If you could sum this game up in one word, what would it be?

Relaxing (most of the time)

2) If you could sum up this game in one sentence, what would it be?

Walking simulator, sometimes garlic.

3) If you were going to give this game a slogan, what would it be?

Wild garlic, it's what you crave!

4) If you could add one thing to the game, what would it be?

Aquariums

5) if you could remove one thing from the game what would it be?

Race restrictions and the stupid 'band' takes all the fun out of trying to find that coveted tarry spot, or that needed horse, etc

6) If you could choose the mascot for this game, what would it be?

The sheep dung

7) If we were to vote a prom queen & king of ohol, who would they be?

Post and Milk, without their monetary support from multiple accounts, Jason would be on the streets.

8) How many hours have you played, what keeps you playing or what made you quit?

Over 3000, I used to play drinking my coffee and waking up before the rigors of my various nursing duties, but now with how the game is, I have zero motivation to waste my morning 'me' time with something that is garbage.

Honorable mention, best moment in the game for me will always be during the rift and I got hog cut while exploring, and slinky comes by on a horse and performs a hail mary miracle

#15 Re: Main Forum » Just got banned in OHOL Discord by mean moderators » 2021-06-14 17:06:52

Discord isn't a clique, twisted and I do NOT get along. And you blocked both of us.  So there goes that theory.  Also when you started using the phrase NPD, I've used that same term in discord chat many times, I have yet to see anyone else use it, until you.
It led me to believe  that you knew me and my style of banter on discord to attempt to trigger a discordant dialog. So I blocked you, that should've been the end of it.

I wish you the best, and good luck with your CPTSD.  It is a good idea to get a refund and try other communities that may be more accommodating.

These days, giving people the benefit of the doubt has been a pillar for me to change my behavior and not expect others to accept my caustic personality because I'm autistic.  Changing behavior is tough, it requires insightfulness and being able to empathize how another person would react.  I struggle myself daily with communication, but I do feel like it's improving.  I say this because I know you can find a communication style that will work for both you and the communities you want to be a part of.

Sometimes critiques of behavior can be moments of reflection rather than defensiveness.  No one says you have to stick around and escalate a situation, you can walk away sometimes.  And be the better for it.

What's missing here is context, snippets carefully cut out from the whole picture.  This particular individual lost their mind when someone referred to them as a 'guy'.  So instead of simply saying, oh hey I prefer female pronouns' the individual expected everyone to automatically know about her pronouns and everybody was intentionally misgendering her (without having any prior knowledge, this would be in the realm of magic).

Anyway, I bring that up because this individual referred to Uno as a male.  Uno didn't freak out just said, 'I'm a female and now you're assuming gender whilst expecting others to know what pronouns you prefer'  I'm paraphrasing forgive me if it isn't complete word for word.
The individual in question, never apologized, never corrected her error and never acknowledged Unos request to be called female pronouns.

So this kind of malarkey is what is going on here.  This individual is not a victim, instead projects their behavior onto others, and then victimizes themself when their behavior is criticized.
I wish nothing but the best for this individual and hope they find a community more accommodating.
The.end.
