clearly it's listening, but I did not get either response you described KRN

Exactly, u couldnt connect to the server (soo u got THAT as response)

It is just a more convenient way to test if u can connect to it without the need of "OHOL Client" itself wink

LavishFox wrote:

... I forgot to make an exception on the firewall of the os running the vm.  ...I can’t test it with the client from my own ip due to my isp.  ...

I think it is possible to try it thru some "IP testing Website" but dunno for sure.

aaand as i sayed above its just EZ way to test ur server, soo u either Can or CanNot see response on Both sides without the OHOL Client/App
(soo if u dont see response using this u most probably wont see it using the standard way of looking at "Waiting to be born" screen in game, after waiting for loading screen to finish)

its also Usefull to check for the correct IP and stuff like that (just for checking if u CAN connect or Nah roll)

"Steel Blade + Two Steel Blade = EmptyHands & Steel Blade"

It has the same result as putting "Steel Blade" on the ground, essentially deleting the "Two Steel Blade(! S !)" (<- pls add "S" to the word since there are multipleS of the same thing)

You dont have to use OHOL client to check if u can connect to the server using any internet browser (like Firefox,Chrome or Explorer/Edge), just use ur "IP:Port" (sth. like "http://192.168.56.xxx:8005/" or "http://mySite.com:8005") and put it into the "Address bar", and u either Fail to find anything instantly OR ur server will reject u after 10 seconds and ur page will say sth like this

SN
0/40
33
#REJECTED
#

i guess the 0/40 is how much "players is currently on ur server / maxPlayers" u setup for it wink

Why shouldn't the one that takes the most ingredients be the best to make? Did Jason just put it in to be a troll pie and see how many people waste food on it?

I rather think (looking at his previous games) that he is quite "new" to this kind of size/scale of games, soo he doesnt know (for exaple) to put numbers into things like Excell, and ballance them out properly (and shape them) how he wants them to be. Rather then just randomly typing them in from head while adding things into the game XD

just ignore and install (ofcourse on ur own risk)
this happens because he has no License sad

yes u are right:

# -> cheaty way to add extra properties to objects (for example adding wood to cut trees) => dont translate
yes (names of skins just wont show) => dont translate
@ -> used for grouping items together soo he can just check if item is in the category instead of adding transitions for all of em (potencionally missing some newly added ones interactions, like chainsaw not being able to cut some trees) => dont translate

soo translate Everything but anything after those ;-)

Especially if u have "LONG Beatifull Hair" that almost Completely Coveres ur Backpack (soo u almost cannot Click it(backpack), much less See whats IN it sad)

I would suggest having X*rectangles in the upper part of @Storages, nicely separated soo u can click them instead of the items (esentially sellecting which one to pick without aiming for about 2 yrs)

i was browsing thru the forums and noticed this post
https://onehouronelife.com/forums/viewtopic.php?id=307
and thought u would like to know about it Jason wink

its about walls being permanent (soo u can wall ur self in forever)
AND under it "wish" for all things to be (re)movable for building and all...

#12 Re: Main Forum » [Suggestion] Hud easy » 2018-03-08 16:18:50

ye we need more numbers and HUD aids to let us know what our character can figure out (like remembering faces)

#13 Re: Main Forum » Sheeps ruining farms » 2018-03-06 21:59:40

u have to shovel the eaten row OR wait 10 years
aaand the sheap wont get fed by it because its "Domestic Sheep" already (with wool)

#14 Re: Main Forum » Setting up the game on Ubuntu 17.10 » 2018-03-06 21:48:22

KRN

well if the EXEcutable is for mac but u run/need Linux (Ubuntu) than it made wrong thing for Linux soo u cannot use it

but if u are just missing SDL Library than put this into Terminal:

sudo aptitude install libsdl1.2-dev

aaand Enter, it will update or install as nessecary

and if u need them all then wait till i make the tutorial tomorrow (for Server,Editor, devClient)

#15 Re: Main Forum » Setting up the game on Ubuntu 17.10 » 2018-03-06 21:36:49

i have a feeling the "app" is not for Linux but for Mac which would be the BUG i forgot

True, we definitely need more numbers in GUI.
Im thinking about adding Negative Number which indicates how much time it eats from ur hungerSpeed/second(the speed at which u lose Health/MC-food), and position right next to the Temperature Meter soo its meaning will be instinctive (and ppl will understand that they should dress up smile).

katastic wrote:

- The adult food meter has no grouping. It's extremely difficult to COUNT your food meter, and instead you have to (peripheral) eyeball it.
It needs to be grouped into say, units of four, or replaced with digits as higher numbers. Many games have done this exact thing, though I can't recall specifics at the moment.

ye grouping by 5 or 10 cause u cannot see more than few CentiMeters around eye focused point at one moment, soo now we have to look at too much to have a idea of the rough amount sad
im thinking about sth. like 4 Vertical lines using the 5th Horizontally-ish (from botLeft to topRight), u know those standart CAVEMAN Paintings with Coal in caves and stuff wink

well IRL deserts have almost no "heat capacity", soo at Day u are Burning to death and at Night Freezing to death (but with our timescale it evens out to 0 i guess? XD)

Assuming this
http://mc.edmi.nl:1340/onelife2/routes/
is "official-ish" and up to date with the current published version of the game.

Once u pluck branch from "Yew Tree" you can no longer chop it down with the AXe.
The "Yew Tree#Branch" is choppable with Steele AXe, but "Yew Tree" is NOT (since its missing "Steel Ax + Yew Tree = Steel Ax + Chopped Tree with Firewood#big,log,wood2").
It would also be good if the Branch fell next to the tree and wasnt deleted from existence smile

If u are doing this:
http://onehouronelife.com/forums/viewtopic.php?id=112
than ill be making tutorial once i pull it off (thx to answer ill hopefully get from JasonR).

But i u shouldnt need to do that
http://onehouronelife.com/compileNotes.php?nocounter=1
its just for compiling ur own UNpublished LVL brand NEW version ! (that only dev has) from GitHub wink

#20 Re: Main Forum » Setting up your personal Linux test editor/server/client » 2018-03-06 19:08:13

After day of struggling i finally managed to pull this off yay smile
I by chance had VirtualBox(=VB) Linux on my WinPC and soo i have set it all up there.
I have Server,Client,Editor and even my custom little script (.sh) that uploads the map into the server (and i made Tutuorial/howTo together with it as well). I even managed to connect from outside VB to the server.
But its not the same ... for example picking berry from bush turns it into Flint, than goosePond aaand at the end into emptyBerryBush XD. And connectig from inside VB is not a possibility either cause i get less than 20 FPS ;-(

Soo the only issue i have is that i cannot use this Windows (old) version and i was wandering which of the scripts i should start to make .exe for me, that would be the same version as i currently have the server running at (the most Up to date).
(i would than just copy in into my "Main OS"(=Windows) and play on VB hosted server)(aaand post Finished & Posted tutorial with scripts and steps on how to do it all AutoMagically for everyone else wink)
