Actually I kinda like the idea of wind-powered things or recycling a lot. Like how you can recycle two broke tools for scraps to make iron. What if this worked for other things too? Not to make things infinite of course, but to ease certain things.

Like rag, clothing could be recycled if you use shears or a needle and thread on it. Two rags = one rabbit fur or something? Or like the same item that was the rags. Like two rag loin clothes make a new loincloth, etc.

Lakes or rivers sound cool too honestly. Why stop there? Oceans would be neat, make a tech tree for making ships for long travel. Then we can all be pirates or feel like actual explorers. Ships and boats were a thing in history long before engines and kerosine. Load your family up in a big ship and set sail for better lands when the time comes. Lol.

I was born as Frieda Feuer to a small town in the North. My mom was AFK. I was cared for by an aunt for a while until she died. Almost starved, no one would feed me despite my please of 'f'. One person managed to feed me and by that point, I was set and grew a moment later. They had essentials, was kinda new I think, only a deep well. I was working on upgrading it as soon as I could but two related family members came in on horses and started killing people. I was only like 14, didn't have a bow or knife around to grab. While they were killing my family I fled south towards a bell town that went off. I didn't feel too guilty, they almost let me die as a baby. I had been debating traveling off anyways.

I had my first kid dressed him and we took off. Had a girl during the trip, bell town was only 600 away so it wouldn't be too far not to make. My son ended up dying while I was trying to feed him wild food. My daughter, Cleo, was passed his clothes and we continued. She was a trooper and we made it to the bell town. We were not welcomed, however. As soon as we got there a bunch of tan-skinned people started chasing us with knives. During the chaos, I had another kid and scooped her up. We sort of ran around and skirted the town for a while dodging attacks. On our journey, me and Cleo had found knives but had no initial plan to harm these people. I'm not sure what there deal was honestly. There was a tan and ginger family. You'd think they'd be chill with a black family so we could all make rubber easier?

During the chaos of sidestepping knives and somehow outrunning a mob my daughter had a baby but left it trying to run. (They were too clueless to form a posse I guess, which was good for us. Lol) The tan people that were initially starting to chase us were old and died. So we went back and all was fine. There was one last tan lady that was like in her 30's maybe 40's that started up their family tradition of wanting us dead. She was foolish enough to follow us to the North, on the outskirts of the town. I pulled out my knife and killed her. All was well then and we settled in.

Looking at the family tree now, however, I see my daughter Cleo was murdered sometime after I died. Not sure why as we hadn't been bothered and were even able to help contribute to the town at that point. So our journey was in vain I suppose and all the chaos for nothing. There was only one fertile tan when I died, so I was secretly hoping they'd eventually die out as I had two daughters.

I'm curious now though, if any of them are reading, why y'all were so hostile? Like we came from the far North and didn't do anything wrong. There was another black family there when we came. Were you after those people initially for something and confused us? Or were you all just racist or some bs. Lol.

TLDR: Fled from murder in birth town to a hostile bell town that tried to kill me and my kids. The journey was for nothing because looking at my family tree after dying as my eldest daughter was murdered. I thought we dealt with the problem with the tan family and all was peaceful when I died. Ironically I had been in this town in a previous life earlier in the day before they had a diesel pump.

Dogs are useless sure and I mean cats probably would be too in the context of the game. Unless maybe something was introduced like rats or mice that eat crops or food? Maybe as an incentive cats could chase them from towns or kill them. Rats could be another potential way to get a bone needle? I don't know I'm just throwing out ideas. Or make them just as useless as dogs. But you already went as far as to include one useless pet animal, might as well add the other.

Then in towns, we can get into debates not only over crowns and hierarchy but now the age old debate of cats vs dogs. Imagine it a full town war over which pet is superior. I'd be down.

But I mean.. we all know cats are better anyways.

That's so crazy. Lol. How is that even possible, though? Was this during a buggy update or?

Must be a bug then.

Though nothing truly compares to the ridiculousless this mom had to go through during the times of baby hell:

It was in one of the bigger towns. I think it's in the middle of a bunch of towns. I know it has a bell. I've been there for quite a few lives. They had a radio going last time I was there.

This is my all time record. Has anyone had more? It was insane. Babies kept popping out left and right. So many were sids on me. Rip my fitness score. Like I've never had more then maybe four kids max in a life, maybe five if I'm lucky. Is this like a new OHOl record? Has anyone had more?

Realize my last words may be taken out of context. But someone, like typical, was killing people for the crown and I got caught up in the mix trying to be a old lady hero. Lol.

I was born to a mom that didn't want me. I was going to just let myself starve and roll for the next life, but I heard sounds nearby only to stumble across you. You were already an old man and fed me, asking me to make buckets. Since the steam update, I haven't seen too many people feed abandoned babies (for obvious reasons). So thank you! I made you a nice little grave and told my kids about you. Also made a few buckets too before I died!

Seems the line died out though as my daughter went on a killing spree. I let her kill me, but I guess she got power crazy. Who knows.

I've had a few good Eve runs lately and wanted to say even though they've of course died out, I am proud of every single one of you. I've had a lot of flops, but about three really good runs the last few days. All of my kids and grandchildren were lovely. I tried to teach some of you, but I'm not really great at teaching. Sorry. Haha.

I can't remember a whole lot about the ones from a few days ago, but look how long you guys lasted! So amazing.

13 Gens and 21 Gens

I think 21 is my longest one yet. I'm so proud of you!

To my most recent run:

Only 7 generations, but that's still not bad at all! I'm still so proud of you guys. I only kept two girls, Astrid died young sadly. But Theia you rocked it! You listened so good, started the farm, helped gather things. I noticed you gathering all that food at the start too. You listened well when I taught you what I knew and how not to keep all your babies if the camp is unstable. Clarissa, my grandbaby did really well too. I'm so sorry you died though, but it seemed you died while teaching so I'm glad you had a good heart too.

It's a shame the last name dropped off, but wow! It seems like it got crazy near the end, I see a few bear deaths.

What were the camps like near the end? I'm so curious.

I was your first born, Mary. We worked quietly but in sync and quickly got things moving. You did such a good job too. I haven't gotten too excited about an eve settlement like that in quite awhile. So thank you! My apologies for dying so suddenly while I was caring for little sis. I'm glad to see she ended up surviving to old age. My cat jumped on my computer tower and unplugged it. I didn't get to reconnect quick enough to not starve. I felt super bad about it afterward, sorry I had to go out like that.

To maybe avoid the grief stew can sometimes in bowls, maybe limit how many servings are in one to one?

It'd give another use for butter and have potatoes be used for something else other than being baked. The tree for them could go like

Raw potato > potato in bowl of water > over hot coals > boiled potato > round/shard stone > mashed potatos in bowl > knife with butter > buttered mashed potatos in bowl

Maybe it'd have 2 uses? Completing it to the end of buttered mashed potatoes could make it add more hunger points them plain mashed potatoes.

Because as of now butter only has one way to be used, with bread. Butter bread is nice, but I think it'd be neat to have other uses for it.

When I was a young boy I fell in love with a lovely girl named Jessa Adams. I made her a shawl and asked her to marry me when we were kids after getting her moms blessing. She said yes, but I never saw her again after sadly... I found out later she and her family tried to settle to the North of the larger town.

Unable to find my wife and thinking the worse I took up the task of cleaning the deceased. I noticed the graveyard we had wasn't very nice, so I wanted to make something better to respect those that came before me. My wife was gone, so I dedicated my life to making a proper cemetery to the South of the town with stones pillars and fences. With some help, we got rose bushes planted at the entrance too. My entire life was spent tending to the cemetery and respectfully moving the bodies of loved ones over to it from the old graveyard.

As a grey, tired old man a young man approached me. I told him I was dying and it'd be ironic to die in the very graveyard I had made. He promised to bury me with a grave marker and everything. Which was very kind. He was like the son I never had and I told him this. I wanted to do one last run before I died, and in the process of gathering bones, I died by my trusty horse I named, Bartholomew and a cart filled to the brim with those fallen. I died doing what I had spent my whole life doing.

I"m not sure if the young fellow will find my old bones to the East of the town in the old graveyard. But even if he doesn't I want to thank him. Thank you for being kind to a creepy old man who spent his life moving around dead bodies. Sadly I don't remember your name except that you were an Adam's.

Farewell, Medina Otter

Aha yeah. It was a lot of fun that life though.
http://lineage.onehouronelife.com/serve … id=1156210

It was nice to be born into that family though as much as I was. Me and my twin spawned as Eves there, she was Eve Ferone and I Eve Strider. So her family line got to live on for quite some time. I was born into it on two occasions. Once as Derreck and then as Peri after I was trying to be reborn with my friend as twins.

Like I said on Discord, it's not my fault they killed people. Maybe the last reboot I edged it on a little bit.. because Izma was being a little difficult with the name, but I didn't tell people to go around murdering everyone. I thought it was funny to see so many Dave's in one place. Izma was me and my twin's sister, so honestly, it might be me you're talking about? But we only ever killed one person and it was a "Dave' for being a griefer, so I mean.. Y'know.

It's okay though. There will always be more Dave's. c:

Had no idea you could put the milk back in the bucket, so that's good to know.

Ah I didn't know that Tarr, thank you! I just assumed it reverted back regardless in either state, so it's good to know it won't if it's in the dry cow state.

#24 Re: Main Forum » Reminder to new players about cows » 2018-09-23 18:21:07

No problem. c:

I can't say so much on how to pen them, but that sounds ideal. Because bison just pop out babies constantly. I've seen people put them in the pen with sheep.. it gets so messy. No domestic bison can't be killed, which makes it an even bigger pain sometimes. I've never seen anyone trap them in a one tile area in any villages so far, but that sounds like a good ideal. I'll have to try that next time I get a chance to.

Yes, only full bucket's of milk will be separated and able to be used for butter and turn into skim milk. So it's always better to not drink milk until it's been separated so you can get both butter and skim milk.

It's probably one of my more favorite names I've been given so far honestly. Lol.

I can't tell you how many lives I had the last few days with cow issues. so I feel getting more information out there couldn't hurt. Of course, there's Onetech, but not everyone knows to visit there. I've explained this enough time in the game to teach people, so I'm going to hope maybe people will benefit from this.

Milk cows are really nice to have because milk is a really good food source. You make butter and then skim milk. If you have enough buckets it's just something nice to have. I like it a lot better than stew honestly since it doesn't stick in bowls and has only one use. (So it's like less clutter.) I feel milk is one of the better food sources for people, but I don't see it too often in villages, so maybe this will benefit someone.

To get a milk cow you need to have a domestic cow have a calf. You do this by feeding it corn kernels in a bowl. It'll pop out a calf after some time and once the calf leaves its mother, you get a milk cow. Once it's a milk cow you'll use an empty bucket on it to get a bucket of milk. But then it'll become a 'dry' milk cow. This is an easy fix by giving the cow a bowl full of water to drink. If you let a cow be a "dry' milk cow for too long, it'll revert back into a domestic cow and you'll need to repeat the whole process. (Also if you never get the milk off the milk cow it'll turn back into a domestic cow over time as well, so be aware of that too)

It's pretty simple honestly, but can be a time consuming having to wait for a calf from a bison to grow up. Speaking of bison, after you get a domestic cow enclosed somewhere you don't need a bison anymore. If anything they pop out babies all the time and make a pen super messy and gross.
