Huge news! Very exciting! Can you give us a ballpark figure for app price?
Dude, that looks great! I think I'll "borrow" it.
Man, that start area is so familiar, haha.
I'm reminded of Terrafirmacraft, which has a couple of mechanics in this area. First, food is divided into five groups: fruit, vegetable, grain, protein, dairy. Your max health is determined by how much of these food groups you have eaten, so if one or more of them is neglected, your overall health dimishes. I'm not sure that part of it is what we want here, but having major food groups might be easier than tracking individual foods.
The other mechanic is that ecah player has a random "tastes" profile. Food can be cooked or combined into different recipes etc. with each food/cookedness combination satisfying the different taste types of sweet, sour, salty, bitter and savoury. Eating food that aligns with your tastes gives more food bonus.
Again, not necessarily what we want in this game, but worth discussing for comparisons.
Overflow tank is just a fake solution. You are just giving people a bigger hunger bar, only they can not see it.
Then we have to secretly 'know' what our hidden true hungers are instead of just making the bar bigger.
It doesn't really solve any problem, it just makes it more complicated and opaque.
Not quite, there's one bit you're missing. The fact that you can't eat if you're full up to the overflow, so it's more like giving them a bigger hunger bar and disallowing eating in the top x portion of that hunger bar.
If you did implement an actual reason to eat different foods, then it wouldn't matter if a lot of the foods were fundamentally the same but only visually different.
I like the idea of adjusting the frequency of the chimes based on time left, rather than squares left. It would be pretty straight forward and all client side.
That's pretty nuts. What's the baby starvation rate, for comparison?
Those changes sound good to me, Jason.
Having lots of different foods that are fundamentally identical is still fine. It's an aesthetic thing and it opens up cool roleplaying opportunities like cabbage vs broccoli, not because one is actually better than the other, but just because of arbitrary side-taking.
It might take a bit of work, but you could limit food types to particular biomes, no just for where they spawn but for where they can grow. It would be another reason for settlements to pop up in different places and trade with each other.
I've just finished making a water biome mod with streams. I can help you out. Jump on the discord server and pm me.
I've already implemented breastfeeding as birth control and it was super easy, although it hasn't been playtested at all. If anyone is interested, I can share my code so you can run it on your server.
Yeah, ryanb is the man.
Could also be some kind of leet text, + is t, $ is s etc. there seem to be a few instances of \/\/ which look like they are meant to be W.
It's a URL:
It starts with http:// and there's a .php? in there, and a query variable or two, looks like the last one isn't modified: =166219
Surely those situations would cause a disconnect? This bug seems to be something else. The connection isn't lost.

Does it have anything to do with One Hour One Life?
Nice work, thank you!
I've just moved this to the bugs forum and tidied up some formatting.
I have at least one person on Mac getting regular crashes since the latest update as well. Between these crashes and other people complaining of new lag, their might be new bugs to hunt out in the latest version.
If you want help debugging, jump onto discord in the #ask-for-help channel and we can have a look.
The birth giving dad code isn't mine. I have another mod which involves males in birth probabilities, but as far as I know it isn't incorporated into 2HOL at this stage. If you jump onto discord and ask in the #ask-for-help channel I can try to help you out.
That would probably be a version mismatch between your client and the server.
Do you know what server you were on? Were there others players on at that time experiencing the same thing?
Yeah, they clean up the oldest ones so you don't get file bloat.
