Terrible boring update. May as well go back to rift to prevent the infinite west wandering at this point.
Small camps for new people trying to learn something away from the village? Nope, not anymore.
Making extra tools ahead of time as smithy because you know they will break and people will come searching those baskets? Nope, not anymore.
Repopulating old settlements because your village went nuts and you need a quite place to play? Noooope, not anymore!!
Making small outposts with spare steel tools for whatever fun reason you may had (Snow forts, tattoo shops, glassworth farm, oil rig with working station)
HAHA
Basically this is saying to the player: "Play the game the way I want you to play, stay in your village and fight with eachother". More drama more fun no?
The real problem here is a big nerf with exaclty zero help to counter. Since this is a social game, the biggest and most annoying "flaw" is how hard it is to comunicate ingame. Not only how to do stuff to new people, but even for people with some knowledge it is not obvious how to coordinate. It takes 10 to fifteen minutes to teach someone how to soil and water a berry bush and another 10 to fifteen to teach and explain him why he shouldn´t be eating domestic berries in the first place. God bless you if you manage someone to eat pies or stew instead of mass picking berries from the farm.
But the worst part of the poor comunication are more likely the "self learners". That guy that starts making pieces for an engine while you have almost no steel and when you confont him he comes back "lol noob we need an engine for water" while you are trying to point out there is not enough iron for an engine for starters and no oil either. Or the guy that starts chasing you because you light the oven to cook those 7 pies trying to save the town from famine "nooo wait I need to make more... why did you cook my pies I need to make twenty to cook them". Unfortunately self learning in BS2 is just hurting everyone around. You made everything to make "icecream!!!" but you did´t get sugar because you are not brown. And I won´t talk about people using the newcomen hammer or roller and let it go unused because they didn´t know to light the forge first.
All that is related to the real hardship in this game, teaching and learning. Food nerf? Iron nerf? Its the same to each and everyone of these survivalists, they will just carry more pies around while every new player just dies clueless of how to get water with 4 full cisterns around.
Poor shitty update with full food/iron nerf but not actual content. May as well cut all the food to 0.75 actual value and make food spoil after half an hour. But I guess this is easier. The problem for me is pleasing the small crowd of survavilists while adding nothing to civilization building. Instead of going forward we are going back to the stone age and nomads (As a society we actually became a whole nomad tribe moving west if you didnt notice).
Do you have autism Spoonwood?
Sorry, not trying to insult you, it just came to my mind and now I'm very curious.
I see that comment as incredibly ignorant and inappropiate.
Yes. Innocent players that carry towns being banned by a broken system is this game working as intended. Great job everyone.
You're not very bright are you tarr?
Have you ever thought you may not be innocent? Just asking because you refused to answer my last question.
how do carrot pies stand on water usage. i mean one water grows five carrots, and two waters to make the dough for four pies and one carrot left to replant. I feel like its a pretty decent food most people are reluctant to use. but idk i've never looked too far into the math of things. mutton pies are indeed great but you need almost a full berry bush and the carrots, so thats two waters plus the two to make the dough. I think carrot pies may out weigh the mutton, but ofc with yum bonuses its best to have the variety.
Theres no doubt mutton pies are superior to carrot pies. Theres no doubt mutton pie is the best portable food in the game.

Mostly curse abuse. It's a pretty serious issue. If you curse more than you get cursed I have news for you: you're part of the problem.
That has to be one of the worst logic constructions I´ve ever seen.
Question for you: What is the objective of the curse system? (for you, what should it aim to? how should you like it be and more importantly, why?)
I just dont get how you guys get yourself cursed so much. I am pretty mean in game but one thing I don´t do is griefing.
Pein Didn't saw any Spreadsheet so here is mine , ( it is updated) it has also clothes stats.
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/ … 6&range=A1
Yeah I forgot about pumpkin pies, they are pretty good too.
Thanks for sharing, most numbers go as we said. However I never make strong calculations because there are too many small freebies you can take, rabbits are most of the time a byproduct as well as mutton while wheat and some seeds can be taken for free around the map.
“Heavy yummer”
Yep that’s me right there. Unless I’m using the power of calcium to kill swampsBaked potato can get me some serious bonus pips later in life.
I ship any heavy yummer even eating a bowl of cooked beans, because chances are they are helpful to everyone else.
Everyone who says zero berry bushes are needed, are the ones who grow the 3x3 plots. I have never seen a place not have any berry bushes. LIES!
I believe I have not planted a berry tree on Bs2 for two months. Maybe 6 to 8 if you discount those in the corners of pens. The last time I made a 3x3 was like 10 months ago in some early camp, I soon learned carrots are way way better at the start. You haven´t seen a place without domestic berry bushes because the game teaches you about them as basic survival in the tutorial.
yeah my bad, dunno why I remembered 5
shrimp is okay but not renewable, plus the nets cost fleece
yeah bread is quite bad, it's okay if you use wild wheat but it's the same thing as making pies
when I do baking, I dump the first dough on a plate and leave it be, that way it won't convert to bread and the bowls store it until you don't have enough platesthe baked potato gives yum for the other half so can be considered 9 pips, that's 45 per water, uses more soil tho, which is 1/6 water so
30 potatoes for 7 water, that's around 38.5
wow french fries are 30 food for 0.20 water so 150 pips
sure you need palm oil, and you even lose it, so maybe you need to do more at a time, at least 10 potatoes per oil if you are not brown (you can dump the palm kernels outside the jungle and they won't decay)ketchup seems a lot of work but seems to worth it
also, tomatoes are better now than berries
- When I do math on potatoes I always do x4 for each row, because you need one potato to plant the next row.
- Shrimp is good because you carry four servings per item and you get a value close to rabbit pie. Also you get free meat from the repair fleece, it does a nice combo with mutton pie.
- Baked potato only makes sense for heavy yummers. They are not horrible but still worst than milk, carnitas, mutton pie, rabbit pie, shrimp, stew and turkey broth.
- The only reason bread is not horrible is because you still need straw for compost so theres always some grain for free.
I do sometimes cook carrot pies but tend to avoid domestic berries as much as possible. Are wild berry and carrot pies a bad choice? I'm sorry, I swear I read the thread, but math is not my strength.
Also sorry, not sorry, for going back off topic, but -
Being a shepherd with a grass system could be a potentially pretty fun job, right? Say you had to craft a shepherd's hook that made sheep follow you while you led them to different grassy areas? ..With your loyal dog friend? I just want an excuse to breed dogs tbh.
Wild berry gatherer is one of the most underated jobs, you are gifting your town free water and soil. Grab a cart or horsecart and bowls go around and gather. Fill with carrots at the farm and mass sheep. Town hero.
I thought it was 4 corn per plant?
Carnitas is still second best food in the game, milk first and mutton pie is best of portables (mostly because it is 4 servings per slot). Shrimp and rabbit pie are similar and and they are also ok for portables, even if you have to bait rabbits with berry and carrot. Stew is ok but not near close to carnitas or milk. French fries are ridiculously good but they are too small servings to be considered containable as the pies. Turkey is free and broth is close to stew. Even if you milk the thirsty cow with a full bowl of water you are still better than stew and mutton
Watch out for considered "good" foods which are not that much better than berry (Berry is 3*7=21 pipes per water and soil). Bread is like 48 pipes for 2 water, so pretty bad. Bean burrito and baked potato are close to bread (around 25 and 32 pipes per water). Dont overdue bread!!

I was born in the black family and traveled up to the tans let horses loose out of the desert so that they could get them, then worked my way over to the white family and gathered a bunch of horses up for them as well.
I hate not having enough horses around when I'm born in a town.. I'm a gatherer and traveler a horse makes my gathering much easier. People tend to run off with horses and never come back.
A lot of the horses are stolen by people running to tarrs monument. Since it is just too far away that means a lost horse everytime.
It's not lost, it's still in the system, as long as it's near there. Because I am the one that finds them in the wild and I am one of the people bringing them, near there.
If I ever finish my town near there, they'll all wind up going back to the other towns, and, of course, find their way back out into the wild, as they always do.
It's just a lot of work, and getting to that town has become so hard, running there by foot from the furthest towns now takes me 10-15 minutes. If it takes me more than half a life to get there on foot from the furthest town, I may just give up on it entirely, but for now, I have enough there, so, whoever keeps bringing all the iron and buckets, to the Tarr monument, I love you, but, you can relax on that. If you could fill the cisterns of the old cities, from the wells I've made across the countryside, that'd probably be better.
I'd like to reboot the area around the monument someday, with a family of each of the four races, I'm just enjoying my own little project for now. Yeah... that's not true. It's actually very sad.
I am intentionally not touching the well, because I don't want the place to die due to lack of engagement. I have my own tarry spot, and I have seen others, I just don't want to force anyone to be there, so far away from the other towns...
I could probably rough start 3 of the other wells near the monument, and in 4 hours, all four families would be up there, if I were born a woman of each of the 4 races, not that we need all 4, but I'd rather have it that way. I'm sure you see my problem though, this has gone from a fun project 500 meters from everyone else, to an arduous trek, 2,000 to 3,500 meters from everyone else.
It's making less and less sense, to fight the edge of the eve spiral, every day. Yet I don't want to give up on it. At least one of you, doesn't want me to give up on it either, I think, whoever keeps bringing all the tools and buckets there. I'm glad you do, so, I won't give up on it just yet.
It is not "in the system" if it is not going to come back. I can vouche for you getting horses when you are in a black family. But a)You are not playing the game alone b)You are not always playing black family. It is about a simple math Morty. Each horse trip to Tarrs monument is a horse that stays in Tarrs monument, because you are never going to go on foot to bring the horse back.
I don´t want to comment on the curse system because I don´t really know if it is bugged or not. However, I´ve seen a revitalization of the griefers around the map because the no kill solo update ended up being the perfect cover. Half the time people don´t know how to join a posse and half the time you have to show everyone the griefer almost in action for them to join. Last night a guy dug all the berry trees right in front of everyone in the town, after ten to fifteen minutes explaining everyone how to join and why we needed to kill that guy someone said "uh we can just plant more" "don´t kill him" while the other guy was stealing buckets and digging more bushes. I just don´t log in to be chasing around some idiot or having to convince everyone of how to play the game.
I was born there earlier. Not sure who did it.

A decently well civilized town should use the grand total of zero domestic berry bushes per person up to like 20 people.
Never heard of him.
Good update.
What was your point again? dont seem like there was.
Can you at least explain why you said to me "However, don´t try to stop the rain with your hands, you can only catch a few drops."
My main point about the game is:
There is not a proper or real tech tree, since most high tech items are not really useful.
Regarding your first post my points are:
a) You extracted a few truths from the gameplay to refute and criticize the opener, while
b) You elude the main point of the opener (The inconsistency in the trailer related to the present gameplay, which has been acknoledge by Jason)
The phrase you asked for means exactly that, since you are trying to niptick the first post and keep posting while adding nothing of value to the main topic. I replied to you already: "You are just dodging the main idea here. GJ." But you don´t seem to get the memo.

There's no idea you just went on a rant
Even Jason posted something meaningful to the thread. Stop shitposting please.

Players already reached the top, they reach it in less than a day, so no the current techtree is not hindered by the availability of oil and water.
If you're saying that towns get abandonned due to lack of oil and water that's partly true, sometimes towns die out just due to bad luck and circumstences.
One big town is currently abandonned but the oil rig still has plenty of oil...
HAHA this post made me chuckle, its like trying to stop the rain with your hands. You are actually right current tech tree is reached in less than a day, I´d say in like 6/8 hours tops unless there is a massive population of new players. And yeah techtree is not hindered by oil/water it´s just that besides making oil for a diesel pump nothing else makes any sense (morse radio is laughable, cars and planes are a waste of kerosene and radio is not even worth it´s water cost). Maybe (and this is a big maybe) photo *could* be considered like, you know, almost fun.
Towns don´t ever die because of bad luck, thats silly, towns never ever die for a different reason than lack of people. I´ve seen it so many times, towns dying because people start to sid. Even if there is food. So many towns with actually full pens and cows. I believe I´ve yet to see a real dead town because there was zero food/water. And even if there was zero food, a pond is basically 10 bowls of water or 40 ears of corn or 40 buckets of milk. Its not even that hard.
Jason hasn´t been ahead of anyone since like Newcomen Pump. There is no tech tree, trees have branches and options, you get to make a selection of how to use your resources. Here you have food production and water production, there is no choice: all towns are the same. For a full year we have seen this idea of perfecting core mechanics when in reality it all looks like Jason is just juggling around. I don´t blame him, one hundred items a week was his offering and he can´t deliver, there only so much a lone man can do. However, don´t try to stop the rain with your hands, you can only catch a few drops.
I hate gingers with a passion they just steal stuff left and right.
