praise the bears, the goose genocide and even the slightly organized greedy discordDome, the rift is finally gone.

we can fix some simple old bugs now: https://onehouronelife.com/forums/viewt … 364#p71364

Also arrows require feather which only comes from wild geese, and you need 3 arrows to kill a bear, so killing all the wild goose + planting 1-2 arrow in each bear = no more arrows and unkillable bears

it is much easier to permanently remove arrows from the game. no need to harm bears to temporarily occupy arrows.

Green hat society includes genocidal hypocritical whiney regular obsessive egocentric enslaving sabotaging thiefing players, who often spend many hours in donkey town state where ever slaves manage to break free and curse.
I get the general impression that half of them are younger than 20 and just have too much free time and act as fascists with significantly diminished social skills.
They are slightly more organized, and in an imbalanced mmo that alone causes a lot of grief.
The game is so bug ridden, that their fascist agendas barely add to the grief they cause.
This time the joke is on them, as i turned the whole bs2 rift into a wasteland with very few geese.

#156 Re: Main Forum » Fortress 5.0 » 2019-08-12 19:23:44

this place could need more bears but really, i could not care less.
because the game currently is the pathethic choice between either starving in a village, or getting randomly murdered outside of it at a young age (or randomly murdered within a city)

rift shows the game is bropken beyond repair.
rift was an attempt to find shortcomings in balancing/scarcity and there sure are just too many of those.
all it uncovers is that the balancing of ohol is more holes than chese.

#157 Re: Main Forum » Hoarders, and Sweaty, Organised Metagaming » 2019-08-12 19:22:38

I killed most gese on the map on my own and am in no way affiliated with the southern fortress of discordDome-organized players.
I was never born in it AND got to live. I sure am not a fan of any slave/headhunter roleplay, and usually kill my mother for attempting that.

Noone tolerated my geese-genocides, but its not like they could do anythong against it. I have not noticed anyone else mass-hunting geese, i was very alone on that one.
They sure noticed and chatted about it while it happened (the chatter that you whitness when you get born into a town that you just lured bears into), but they almost all completely failed to act against it.
Its testing a cause and effect scenario: How would everything react to geese slaughter.

Previous arc test was a "what if i connect cities with roads as fast as possible", and it resulted in continuous deaths and raids along the roads, with the most excessive property fenching, ultimately stalling the game to a halt. People could have chosen to use roads more cooperatively there. But ended up locking in horse carts full of clothes in greedy defiance.
This arc test was, what if arrows are not just occasionally rare, but from the start, where bears are most dominant, so that bears and horsecarts would almost never have fto fear ambushes. Also eggs to run out sooner.

My motivation is to get acknowledgement on how imballanced and unfair this game is by design and by some very dumb basic bugs. This of course starts with bears, but the core mechanic already has its issues.
[1 hour lifespan fast forward society mechanic] has a harsh game mechanic contrast to [anonymous reincarnation], that can work while you can easily evade/block conflicts, but this game has null defense/parry and extreme scarcity, so it is a fascist ruled wasteland in less than 6 hours, because the game does not allow for more complex society.

I dont get how people telepathically know anyone elses foreign name instantly, thats just very dumb design, given what the game does with language-learning simulation.
This alone is begging for discord-grief that bypasses ingame anonymity.

#158 Re: Main Forum » Griefers man. » 2019-08-12 03:21:15

life 1 and 3 sound like the discord thunderdome.
the only ones with horsecarts and they wont feed anyone outside their exclusive group.

the 2nd one was possibly me. but im rarely an eve when i lure bears.

this is what the game is like with rare arrows.

#159 Re: Main Forum » All time low » 2019-08-12 02:44:13

the rift removes more than half of the games mechanics due to scarcity.

#160 Re: Main Forum » Rift Tribes » 2019-08-12 02:43:07

given dwindling player count, this quickly becomes 1 rifft per 4 payers.

#161 Re: Main Forum » 8 days was too long, but what would be ideal? » 2019-08-12 02:40:39

Dont worry jason. getting stale is no longer a matter of time, now that i killed almost all goose within the first 7 hours.
It is a lot trickier to make arrows, so the rift is already mostly a bear dominated wastelandand with the discordDome cavalry base at its southern wall.

#162 Re: Main Forum » Where a donkey lie, he leaves his hair behind. Griefer sabotage. » 2019-08-12 02:26:16

which one? there have been 3-4 bear raided villages in this arc till i stopped caring.

oh right, there was this one peak-fun event, where i give birth to someone while luring bears to a foreign town, usually that kid dies fast to the 3-6 bears next to it before age 2, but occasionaly it lives to age 10. THAT kid survives longer by being adopted by foreigners, and the foreigners ignore that childs "run away" command, and then i lure more bears, and notice that theres only 2 fertiles and few children left (its like my 4th bear lure to that city, as it was a bigger one, good spot) , and one dies young, so i assume the other one is worth trying to kill with a narrow.
that happened to be the last fertile of that village, who also adopted my child.
that kid was not smart though. the city had a backpack with 3 arrows and 2 hidden bows nearby, the backpack was behind the forge. and that kid just waited nicely will i could reuse my bow.
that city could have killed a lot more bears. it just failed at it.

Yes thats frustrating, in a totally imbalanced game.

thats what i get from obsessing with killing almost all gooses on the map, preventing and removing arrows and luring bears mostly north, west and southwest
south center/west of course got a sprawling and discord-exclusice propertyfenched camp run by thiefs to thatever family they may get born to, full of buildings and horse-carts and 3x as much iron as the 2nd iron richest town. the rest beyond the rifterdome can barely afford A second arrow (lack of feathers) and fails to even build a newcomen before mass starvation of the berrymunchers happens.
That SSE area just was not high on my priority list, so it boomed in its organized exclusivity. at one time it even had a slum property fenche atop of another slum property fenche next to it, many that was one long wall north.

the whole rift is mostly a wasteland now, dominated by discord cavalry, wh need not be afraid of arrows taking their horses down, who at least manage to organize a bit, bothering to defend a stronghold with 100% child mortality, surrounded by a wasteland with next to no feathers in it.
Most people are in an endless cycle of starving and berrymunching.

i killed many gooses, and am already too bored to bother, because its a wasterland already, except maybe for that southern camp.
it was a bit like that last time, but this time it is a lot more planned.

#165 Re: Main Forum » Where a donkey lie, he leaves his hair behind. Griefer sabotage. » 2019-08-11 21:02:15

man, i just released all the bears and killed all the goose i could fins and destroyed 20 arrows, all in the name of bear superiority, and the server just shut down.
i guess someone still dislikes people/families surviving apocalypse. so now everyones an eve in this hard reset.

final lesson, the biggest ohol griefer is its dev.

well that just happened like 2 hours ago. yay reset. game may be playable for like 3 hours.

#167 Re: Main Forum » Coordinated reset at 11AM PST, 19PM UTC. » 2019-08-11 17:11:34

lure all bears to the center of the map? got it!

#168 Re: Main Forum » Apoc plan » 2019-08-11 16:10:29

you are overcomplicating this.

you achieve more change by just not playing the game at all.

#169 Re: Main Forum » Game is dumb because of Newcomen Engine Towers » 2019-08-11 16:07:55

the other end is also an issue, theres 3 ways to remove arrows permanently without recovery.

#170 Re: Main Forum » Reset the damn server already, Jason! » 2019-08-11 16:06:51

jason codes alone, so he doesnt do complex fixes, only simple patches.
jason is obsessed by statistical data, and not prone to torturing players with silly constrains to get data, that is plain obvious beforehand.

#171 Re: Main Forum » Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome » 2019-08-11 15:46:57

obvious, its like that as soon as you connect 2 cities in the rift with a road.
that road becomes deadly, and likely one of the 2 cities changes a lot after being raided a lot.

#172 Re: Main Forum » Tomorrow will be the end of the Arc » 2019-08-10 15:12:36

hahaha slinky, that is the best plan you could come up with?

#173 Re: Main Forum » Graphs from this arc so far » 2019-08-10 00:56:07

all bears are pet bears already.

#174 Re: Main Forum » in 15 hours the current arc will be a week old... » 2019-08-10 00:32:45

i just played this shit for 1 hour after a 3 day break. what a dull waste of time that was. horses caged in, and i still saw 4 and rode one most of the time.
metal and tools practically nonesistent.
the stakes have never been stacked higher.
theres like only 2 to 3 regios with significant activity in them, and they flow over with shitty cloth.
somehow people managed to not run out of milkweed as fast as i hoped.

so, this is what a dead game state looks like eh.

its obvious that the rift is dumb gameplay wise, and not at al needed to see what resources are how/too rare.
people who play this game a lot already knew this 3 months before the rift was added as torture, under a dumb pretense for balancing.
