As the person who vandalised and locked the sign saying "town of anal" I feel proud of myself. At first it was named town of anglicia or something like that. Great place and I had a few nice lives in it.

Were you perhaps my mum? She guarded the queen and killed some people, I wasn't around when it happend. but I did see a lot of bloody corpses. There was a lot of drama and I think the crown got destroyed? Also my grandma had crown when she died, I don't really understand what happend because I didn't feel like going along with their roleplay lol. I made some wheels in the small camp in jungle south of city, sadly as I was around 30 yrs old mosquitoes bit me and because of my clothing I died.. standing on ice didn't save me from it. Right as I got over the fever I literally starved when pulling my pie out of backpack :(

Anyway long live anal town! I made two planes in it and in total I think the town had like six diesel engines made? I did just two of them. I made one of the lightbulbs for the radio transmitter too! Thanks to whoever finished my work and made the daniell cells!!!

It rlly sucks. I had a situation like this, except It just slowed me when making a diesel engine. newbs don't really know how to spot a griefer so I'm mostly the only person who cares enough to get rid of him.

Tarr wrote:

People are asking for the threshold to be lowered because even with everyone on the same server it's hard to get eight curses either way.

When it takes an hour of you running around yelling curse X to rack up enough people cursing are you having fun? Because I'm not. Yeah I might send that guy away for an hour of two but it costs me my whole life to secure making sure they get cursed out so in the end we've now both wasted an hour.

Some people either didn't wanna "waste" their curse, or are too dumb to use it correctly - like spelling just his first name without surname and cursing a random person...
It's tiring to keep telling everyone "X is a griefer. curse X", and then explaining to them why... Even If they saw him grief they still kept asking. Sending someone into donkey town almost always takes me 2 lives. Suprisingly, the two griefers I got most curses on both weren't involved in directly killing others. One was a bear lurer, was hiding pies and smith stuff too. And the second was a plane stealer.

I'm tired of seeing people in these forums write stories about serial killers and read that nobody does anything to avoid it

OK, seriously!

How many times do I have to tell you I'm a slow clicker?
It doesn't matter that Steam tells me I've played over 500 hours, and that's not counting my growing AWBZ time.
I know from HARD experience that I can't out run or outplay the majority of griefers.  I am weaker than the other player, but so what???  I still deserve to play a game I enjoy!

And there are other ways I am stronger...
I can rally a town against them.
I can talk to others about suspicious behavior, while also making them laugh.
I can make it so that the minute the griefer crosses my line they get ten curses, and our local knife wielders are there to take care of the threat.  If that knife wielder is me, so be it.  If it's someone else, all the better, because I suck at clicking them the right way, even during the cooldown!

The fact that it's hard for you to rally a posse and curse a griefer doesn't mean it isn't a useful thing to do.  Just like the fact that I can't manage to stab another player faster than they stab me doesn't mean it isn't useful for griefers to be stabbed. The game is better if we do BOTH.

But I'm better at wielding the curse system than I am at wielding the knives.  And the majority of OHOL casual gamers are more like me.

Well said Blue!!! I feel the same way!!! I'd like to think my pvp skills in ohol are about average but I still occasionally get stabbed/shot... However griefers from steam are much easier to kill, in my experience.

#131 Re: Main Forum » Do you enjoy killing people? » 2019-02-06 16:30:25

Uhh killing babies is a shitty thing to do. Atleast wait till I grow up so we can fite 1v1, When im baby I can't even feed myself ffs. I met two baby killers and both were annoying, going out into the woods (both were female) and standing there ~30 mins getting kids and stabbing them all, it was just boooring. First one I met got rekt by a boar and came into village confessing what she did. My younger sis pulled out her knife and was about to stab her, but boar wound killed the bby killer before she could. Also It's rude to lineage ban babies! Not a problem to me since I have a few people I can twin with to go back into town and stab yo ass, I just feel sorry for all the newbies getting stabbed sad I met a really nice newb in Canada (in game, not actual canada. It was town name) and she took care of my babys!

Other than that chasing down griefers and protecting cities is pretty fun. I suck at pvp so mostly im the one getting stabbed lmao. But! When I do manage to catch them it's satysfying. I'm a bit reckless sometimes, one time I stabbed a guy because he refused to make pies and kept making bread... so Yeah. great reason. He was a dik to me tho so he deserved it, even if my mom disowned me later, then killed. Killing ppl who annoy me and run around with loaded bows/knife in hand around city deserve a quick stab. Of course I warn them first, or just stalk them a bit around town, to see if they're just a noob, a troll, or both. Did that to an annoying dude recently, he standed behind wall and tried to shoot me with his bow. He was like "murderer!" when I ran at him with my knife in hand. And as I hid behind tree right next to him people asked him where is killer but he didn't anserw lol. My mom accused my twin bro of doing it when he literally didn't have any weapon. Later mom chased me with loaded bow hahah, I would stab her for that, but decided not to - she was pretty fun. We later joked that it was "exercise". Mum also called my few younger brothers useless rip.
me: http://lineage.onehouronelife.com/serve … id=3254488

I have had quite a few fun experiences messing with towns and the people in it, but I'm not exactly proud of them haha, so I won't share like you did. Not that I'm ashamed of doing these things, just don't want ppl attacking me here for that. However, wholesome lives, where I get baskets of iron into town, finish oil, make daniell cells, help people make car and planes... they are much much better and more fun than chasing down griefers life after life. But that's just how I feel about it. Even If I was a bastard sometimes I never was in donkey town so I guess im not that bad..

anyway roleplaying is fun, and there are many reasons someone might murder another person. stop being a douche and let people enjoy the game however they want to. know what people did when they got bored of the game back before donkey town? murder people. even whole towns when we had glitches. and it was mostly experienced players doing that so it was hard to deal with. i'd much rather deal with a noob stabby roleplayer, easy to get rid of them.

And roleplay is mostly wholesome, maybe if youre rude to ur town ppl they want to stab you. One of my first lives where I roleplayed was in a town with a griefer who killed girls and women. his younger brother adopted me and I called him "dad". He hid me from the griefer and raised me in the wilderness. It was fun.

also any roleplay involving crowns will 99% of the time get you killed so avoid them.

& btw, keys qualify meantime as a valid object to grief with, so stay away if you're not a griefer

ow dont hurt yourself on that edge. roleplaying is a part of the game and its fun - just dont start murdering or griefing while doing it. btw its not a house dude its freaking huge. it was a normal village with ancient walls all around, and it wasnt locked at first some dude just did the locks recently, really it sucks that a dumbass eve found it.

Not a cheap knock-off with a small shitty house that has ugly rock walls. This is apocalypse bell town. Know your town names people! Well technically this town doesn't have any other signs than the casino one... Guess I'll make the letters for town name next time that I get born in  there.

I did manage to make an oil rig and some pipes for drilling, but alas some guy stabbed her and she didn't get to see it. But she did leave a daughter behind her, which meant double family in our town which IMO is a great thing. So yeah, I'd say planes have impacted my game at least.

On a funny note after finally getting a plane together (Big thanks to everyone who helped out with the plane!) a kid started the engine for me but forgot to put the tank in the plane... I only noticed this after I ended up in the stone family village now stranded for the rest of my life.

Planes are a doable project for a group of builders in under a life. It was taking me about two hours to basically solo (nearly) kick them out with each attempt failing within about 5~ minutes of finishing the thing up.

Also for anyone who doesn't know make landing pads in your village to make stone "cars." After they decay into roads they are able to be picked up and you can run at road speed as long as you hold onto it. Bonus points for the fact that your road car is able to walk over snakes and deadly animals without harming you. Very very useful stuff if people care to make them for future gens.

The town with a plane on their landing strip is just 1.7 km south (and a bit west) of apocalypse bell tower city. So If anybody wants to travel the few km there, bring some kerosine and get the plane into city!

Also stone "cars" op, better than a stupid horse who dies from a mere snake bite! And if you're hungry, and get off the stone car to grab some berrys to eat - it won't run away from you like a horse does. It will cover you from all dangerous animals, you just gotta stand on it. As one of the first stone car riders I feel proud of myself for the discovery.

Being married should increase fertility. And I think cousin marriages are fine (Not irl of course, just in game lol) If you marry a guy he would show up as husband to you, father to your kids, and grandpa to your grandkids. I don't think others need to have some new relation to him, it would complicate things. On the family tree after death the married people would have a text under them saying "Married to:(name)" It could link lineages together, not by killing but by loving smile

Don't you think that even if someone is a jerk, trying to get him as much curses as possible, furthemore to people not involved at first, counting on thei gullibility, make you a jerk too ?

Nope, I just can't relate to griefers/noob griefers at all. He would get more curses if his name wasn't so weird. Got him about 6-8. Good job on not cursing him, not my fault if you just so happen to meet him next time and he chooses to grief your village because "he doesnt like you". Only thing I kinda feel like a jerk for is interrupting your students training but she didn't seem to mind so yeah.

Personally I play a lot so curse tokens aren't a problem to me, maybe they are for people who play like once a day. I've never been to donkey town but I have sent a few people into it. If you do something bad and don't get punished, how else are you supposed to learn? Telling them to stop doesnt help. Teaching them doesnt help. Turning their text black doesnt help. Killing them is a good solution - If they dont kill you first that is, but its likely they're gonna just try harder next life. Donkey town can make them get bored of doing it, make them actually think "maybe, I shouldn't have done that"

And If somebody asks you to curse another person, stop being like "duhh i dont know them why would i do that? why waste my curse on person i dont know?" If you're selfish then sure, dont "waste" your curse that you can get back after a few minutes. God if you really have to be so skeptical about it just search for them on the family tree, see if they have killed people, it's simple. If I see a guy cursing someone unrelated? I ask him why. Reason sounds good? I curse them too.

95% of the time if you curse someone it won't be enough to sent them to donkey town anyway. So yeah - good job on keeping your curse and being a "good guy and not a jerk like y'all".

So, I just had a bad life. Got some babies, got some enemies too. My sister was an edgelord telling everyone to die since she was young. I wanted to kill her but didn't want drama so i waited for her to stab someone first. She did that, I healed the person, then I had my chance to kill her. So I did. She got a baby when I stabbed her, some idiotic grandma wanted to heal her but thank god she didn't make it in time.

She took the kid, and fed it with pies. ugh. Atleast she could feed it with berries, or give it to me because I still had milk. I told her not to waste pie, but she told me to "f*ck off" and ran away with the kid. I spent my next minutes renovating the bakery, putting the floor in ice so people wouldn't die from overheating in desert. I had to afk for a bit so I stood in fire, right as I got up from the computer - the idiot grandma stabbed me. I asked her why - wanna know what she said? "Because I don't like you"

I kept looking at the family tree, hoping someone would avenge me - nope! They let that noob live to old age!

I feel so angry that bastard lineage-banned me. Gonna make sure she gets plenty curses, last time a guy that annoyed me this much got like 15 - I just tell random people to curse and they (mostly) listen.

This town isn't bad, but they really overdid it with all these apocalypse bell towers. Few days ago they had like just four...
And yup family tree is glitching! Looks like your dad was a 6 year old and your older sister got murdered by an infant. I was suprised that father is an actual relation that can show up on the family tree, because It's not possible in game.

EDIT: nvm this place is the worst just spawned in there as baby literally every house (even the medic one that was quite nice) has a seeping apocalypse tower in it, and newcomen blocks outside to block people from entering. It's a huge mess and sucks. only reason im staying is because I wanna work on some high tech stuff.

Um what do you mean by daytime? Which timezone? American? European?

I'm from europe and play mostly at normal hours after school ( anywhere between 4 pm to 9 pm) As it gets later I definitely see more veterans around. Before steam release i used to recognize most bad players and when theyre playing. There used to be a racist person I had fought like three times in a week lol. He would only play at early hours so I knew when to expect him showing up. If you encounter so many bad players in one day, they're most likely the same few people getting reborn. Oh also before donkey town - pro griefers were common at later hours too. And I don't mean the ones who like cut all the wheat, maybe killed two ppl.

I mean the ones who would use a glitch to murder a whole fricking village then make a thread about how awesome they are for doing that. On this forum.

Nope - she just casually walked next to the bunker and said "apocalypse" what a chill mom. Immediatelly knew you made it lol. Maybe putting one of the layers down should make you instantly die? And it would work like getting murdered so you'll get lineage-banned for it too. This way one person can dismantle only one layer. Not the best but I don't really see jason adding anything more than that, since so many people are strongly against the apocalypse.

Also it's a good opportunity for roleplaying. Just imagine forcing your useless kid to do it- uh I mean sacrifcing yourself for the greater good !

It really sucks, and I agree with his points. I don't think you understood me, Im just trying to defend myself as a roleplayer. Like pein and you said, I think the issue is more about people choosing to keep it narrow, while there are more associated jobs with the one youre doing. For example when being a medic, you should be doing =
1. heal (trustworthy) people, make pads
2. feed sheep so they produce wool, not steal from a shepherd whos making himself apron. watching people around town and how they behave is ok too. this way you can see if someone is worth saving or no assuming theres few pads.
3. maybe make a medic station if medic stuff is all around town (not talking about hidden pads, they good)

If im an idiot and by roleplaying he means doing only the first thing, then yeah I 100% agree. Maybe Im just lucky enough to have never met a noob roleplayer doing only one job and failing. I mean one time one of my noob kids took care of berries for most of his life and yeah It's not a very ambitious job but he tried his best doing it lol

#149 Re: Main Forum » Roleplay smiths and roleplay doctors? » 2019-01-24 09:50:58

Aw come on not all roleplayers are like that, it sounds just like theyre noobs not taking the game seriously, not neccesarily roleplaying ppl. (by what you said.)

Yesterday I was a smith/medic/compost maker and well, also a roleplayer... kind of I guess. I was in an argument with a knife hoarder, and as soon as she got angry and shot someone I healed the shot person (was my first time successfully healing someone with an arrow wound!!!) and then stabbed her. Some idiot kid healed her but she starved right after lmao. Her sibling tried to kill me but she forgot my name after some time. I was worried that maybe I healed the wrong person and the dumbass was right but nope, the healed woman later brought us many rabbits and we had backpacks.

Later her mom accussed me of murdering all her children, I told her politely to heck off and don't bother me, and thats its not my fault her kid was a griefing idiot. She kept grieving so I told her "fine, we can bury her. but I still don't feel sorry for her." I helped her find a shovel and she buried her somewhere outside of town. Sure, if you're really really really angry about roleplayers you can see it as a waste of shovel, but roleplaying to me is still a part of the game.

Other than your accusations towards roleplayers I think what you said could be helpful for newbies smile Also I never keep my bp as baby unless I have some big project for the town I wanna try doing when older, or when everyone has clothes and backpacks. I give it to anyone who seems atleast half competent and would need it for their job.

Aww that's cute. The first time I messed something up when a smith taught me (knowing im a noob) he was so angry lol. He wasn't really that bad because I did learn how crucibles and bellows work from him, but he didn't seem to have much patience for me. The thing I messed up was - I made a steel file because I thought it can later be made into a knife. Idk why I thought like that maybe I read the wiki wrong haha. And even before that one time I got stabbed for standing near forge, without a warning or anything rip. Didn't make me any less curious about how it works, but for some time I just stayed away from them, and I was doing more easy work like being a town medic and baking. Wish I had such a good teacher like you when I was learning.

It's good now tho, I got oil for maybe about 8 towns? Didn't start it in all of them but I finished :D first town where I did it it has taken me two lives to figure out, It was the connected town where we had a desert/snow biome west with lots of saurerkraut, I think you were eve in that town a few times, I was the baby who ran up to you and asked to be named gio. Ty for naming me that when I got reborn too.

When new updates come out I often find myself in that group of town weirdos bringing every new thing into town and trying to make something from them. I remember these situations mostly from when cows and oil got added.

ps. tarr plz teach me radio
