I was a wandering Eve's child and became a lone wanderer as soon as I could grab.
I traveled far and wide and got lost. I decided to make a camp for my babies that
would come when I was older. I managed to make fire and a needle and sewed myself
a seal coat and was working on a backpack when my girl came to me while I was looking
for more milk for string.
I proceeded to get lost again but at least this time we already had a needle! A family heirloom..
I was starving in the marsh.. She was still so little following slow on short legs, but she could
grab now at least.. I fed her one last time and gave her my sealskin cloak. I asked her
"You carry on?"
I starved before she answered. I hope she did.

Meh.. being able to defend from attackers isn't dumb. This isn't fucking Quake after all.. we should

Interplayer conflict/combat IS interesting and can lead to good game play but there is no reason
that it should favor the attacker as much as it does currently. A real problem is even if you defeat
the killer they are reborn as your daughter.. and THEY are the only one who knows the score..

In order to raise conflict between nomads and settlers, nomads, like history, ride THE HORSE.
As a temporary resource, set up a pole to park your horse for a short time.
Let the wild sheep and bearskin (example) combine to make a nomadic saddle.Now the nomads were on horseback.
The nomads will go on horseback to pillage the settlement's base.
The nomads run away from the base of the settlers on their horses.
Settlers should design the Great Wall to stop the nomads.

Perhaps if you made a saddle with stirrups from steel ingot for stirrup parts combo-ed
with saddle and lasso (stacked like boards and disk does for bucket) it would let you use
items on your horse. Maybe the horse with cart could be nerfed so that it wasn't as fast
as without cart so there is reason to use loose horse?
People need more productivity to be able to afford to have people in the "army" defending
the towns.
If horses and sheeps needed pasture to eat from then big open lands could have their advantages.
Imagine being part of a big horsemen tribe, ladies carrying the babies who too young to ride.
The medium kids wold ride in the carts. Roving the land robbing people and eating their food!

Man.... Sounds like you just need to get good. I started right before the update and have been having NO trouble staying alive and keeping all my kids alive (The ones who don't get themselves killed).
On a more serious note, you just need to adapt. The game is still really fun, you can't expect to always be able to play the same way when the game is constantly changing and evolving.

You already need crop "rotation" except it is more a flexible ratio.
Compost needs berries carrot and straw (wheat) and poop (more berries and carrots).
Now some of the soil needs to go into the carrot seedings and the wheat. A new soil sink
is sapling production, unless you have enough Hoes you need to plant saplings and that
makes every row of carrots effectively cost 1 soil too. Still need to plant em though.
Interestingly the output of soil from the process is higher than the input and it thus gives
you some room to push soil towards other goods you desire, expanding milk production,
berry bushes, wheat for pies and more baskets (tule is onion tier now so wheat is back in
play).
I would like to see fertilizer of some sort as well as more sources of poop, having the
straw and water as inputs limits it enough as is, the 2nd bowl of berry/carrot isn't
ACTUALLY a big cost if you were investing in berry bushes.
I have yet to live in a farm that was REALLY making a lot of compost though. Once
I experience that my dream is a well managed system of wells... THEN we can send
out horsemen on rock hunts and ... well we will see ![]()
If its generated with a seed, and you got twice the same map, then you using the same seed. Seed its just random characters when used in an algorithm builds the map in a certain way

is the seed. I think you could induce true random with a transistor running hot enough to overheat
into errors and reading its state as your seeds?

Killing a village from within is easymode anyways. If you fail should be some way to banish you for a while.
For example, cutting up the bear pelt to get hide, so we can make clothing.

I am not having troubles raising babies either, trying to teach them to survive as nomads atm.
I think it gives them a good basis for survival when things go wrong.
I am also working on my shepherding skills. I want to become compost master again but I
haven't had luck with poo as it was broke last update. I think composter is detailed job and
farmers should report to soil maker with farm status and shit. Composter can then direct
crop ratios to increase future yield long term. Variable planting of carrot wheat berry milk
and sapling is required. Sapling planting is IFFY atm because you only get one poke! afaik..
This is trading a soil+water for a single till or it is like tilling your soil with water..
