So you're saying you didn't associate yourself with carrot guards or are you saying you didn't overreact to me having a negative opinion on carrot guards and people who associate with them?
I haven't gotten a chance to guard the carrots yet, but sure why not. I don't see them as griefing,
seeds are important and sometimes there is overhead in production processes.
You called me a closet X which is a roundabout way of calling me a liar. I suppose one could SAY that
being called liar and then reacting to that is overreacting, and in some ways that is true and some
ways it isn't.
I am saying you called me a liar. Then you told people to treat me like I am a liar.
Then when I called you out on it you called me defensive..
You can shorten HARE to HK, for Hare Krishna.
<3 yes please
Lol you always do it in the same pattern, you try to pick lil fights with people then tell them they are overreacting if they respond to you...

Did they love you or just because you could work ?
And not everybody knows about effective well management , or play well, or want to farm most of the time. There isn't only one way to play. And sometimes there are just too many kids, you need to leave some or you will have a starvation going on.
And putting food in your backpack isn't a problem except if you are putting 4 pies on the 8 or 10 made. Hidding food such as pies or roast meat is bad too because you could make people many people live.
Lol I don't know Man. Once I fed my baby bro when Mom lost her milk and when I was starving he fed me from his pack. I felt the love then.
It is hard to know if people love you vs just need you, I don't suppose it would be easier in the game than in real life </3.
Amen on the pies thing.
I think you could feed more people than it takes to farm the food by quite a large margin. I haven't worked
out a good way to enforce/encourage good well management yet. My best idea is a room with a guard and a
door and you bring carts of baskets of water pouches in and he fills them or tells you to wait.
Seed rows and marking or guarding them is an effective emergent behavior perhaps other ways can be thought
up and passed on regarding wells and composting and soil use Mastery.
Perhaps the Smith arms the heads of the industries and they pass along their blades to their apprentice/helpers
to keep it all going?
Why are there only 8 characters?
Please respond.
I thought the characters were composites of all the sprites. Aurora was asking about pics of the in game people
and I was trying to find them but all I found were little pieces like a mustache or an outline of a torso.
I just assumed it built people out of a part from each category so he could draw less things? Guess not..
<3 I love it, he is so derpy!
I think it is darker to backstab villagers that loved you and raised you instead of killing boys because it is the way to survive in this world, which isn't real world.
Killing boys because the village cannot afford them is bad behaviour but hidding food isn't for you ? Killing boys is the strategy to survive, it isn't their fault, it's game mechanic's fault. You kill village because they didn't take the hardest way to survive, kinda dumb.
I would be less dangerous that you if I kill all black or white people instead of killing villagers that try to keep lineage alive.
I hide food in my pack all the time dude. I am sure I am not the only one. Is hiding
some in the trees really that different?
Did they love you, or just your womb?
As for the way to survive there are plenty of ways, given the current state of balance
there is no inherent carrying capacity (or at least it is not based on farming but on distance
travel time and server lags). The net outputs of composting are positive for everything but
water inputs, it is possible mathematically to account for weak home farmed skewers for
hoeing or with partial seed rows etc to reduce your input to the food system to JUST water.
It is also possible through effective well management to increase the output of wells to
match that of ponds (within a few %).
This means that if you were doing it all the best that can be done you can easily support the
whole server in one big city. You would have to have a system that organized itself with
administrators deputies and law enforcers as well as guild leaders with apprentices.
@ YAHG
I posted this in the other thread, but I'll do so again here. I think this was a misunderstanding on my part. I've been conditioned to assume that "killing kids" meant that you were not feeding them and leaving them to starve. I'm used to people saying "murder" when it involves that kind of killing. So with that being the case, I would like to say that I see your point and I'm not against you. I probably wouldn't do it myself (meaning going out to destroy civs like this), but I can't say I have a problem with it.
We good buddy <3
We're not doing anything wrong by creating our own towns though. It is the style of gameplay we choose, and we rarely even play on the public servers, we're usually very in the background on a quiet server like 10 or whatever, and we don't bother anyone else. We don't shut out noobs, or whatever you call them, we often like to let them in and play, but for large projects such as our old 111 gen run (Which was commended by Jason) we just can't afford to have someone in there who is not able to verbally communicate with us. Also, that project was done on S6, which was only populated by us for about 90% of the whole thing (over the course of 2 days).
As I've stated, we play a certain way, and if there is a "fix" to how we play, then we will no longer feel motivated to play, as we usually like to start, and thus continue projects. It's already not easy for us to get back; do you know how long it takes to run 6000 blocks? 30 damn minutes.. 5 minutes for every thousand, and it certainly adds up FAST.
If this is implemented, I can guarantee you Jason will see a major decrease in the people more known among the community playing.
At some point it is worth it to tame a horse lol <3
YAHG wrote:If you can't see that it is Evil then there isn't much else I can say to you.
Why isn't there much else you can say to us about the matter? Why won't you expand on your views and beliefs here so that we can all gain a clearer understanding and work together to be constructive.
My prevailing assumption, which could be terribly and demonstrably incorrect, is that some of the players who are most offended and vocal about this topic believe it's some kind of feminist agenda or political critique on gender roles. I've seen some word choices on the forums that bear similarities to the rhetoric used by "men's rights activists" and "incels" in their own forums. Completely circumstantial? Maybe, sure.
I just want to expound on this a little, because I have played both ways. Very early on my play style was not to raise the boys as an Eve until I had a more established camp. I then lived a few successful lives as a male which proved to me that males are equally as useful. I am especially interested in their affect on population/food balance.
I just want to point this out, from my perspective, more often than not, this isn't personal or political. Stories like Pronghorn's seem to be the exception more than the rule, and even in that case it seems more like a instance of roleplay gone awry.
YAHG, by the way, I think you and I have played a life or two together, and I really enjoyed your blunt, humorous nature.
Hopefully we did <3
RP is fine, RP gone awry is also fine, people coming back from the dead and killing you for murdering you is fine.
Whether they do it because you killed them or because they killed all the boys maybe isn't super relevant.
I think/feel categorical murder is more vile than individual murder, but I am not sure I have good arguments
for why I see it that way. I think being upset when people are doing evil shit (or even just fucking with you) in game
and taking it out on them in game instead of trying to drag it to some authority figure like a mod or Jason etc. is perfectly fine too.
I agree with the OP in his response to their actions.
I have noticed from time to time people trying to use moralism to silence or censor people here, so far all inroads
of outrage culture have been crushed mercilessly <3. I do not think it is wise to allow that type of cancer to spread
without challenge, EVER.
Calling people out is not the same as trying to silence them.

The thread begins to move
@ YAHG
I feel like you're ignore the basic game mechanics. Women and men work differently in this game, women are a necessity while men are not. Now I do disagree with the notion that boys are useless, they are the most effective form of birth (population) control. But that has nothing to do with gender, and everything to do with game mechanics. Replace boys and girls with anything else, and I think you may get what I'm saying. Unless you're on a crusade to destroy ignorance? But that's not the vibe I'm getting.
I think it is dark as fuck to kill all the boys, and I don't much care if it makes sense in a
mathematical game sense way. I think that if I were to do such a thing in a game, for fun,
ritualizing the killing of kids for being boys out of efficiency I would be entraining my mind
to that pattern as well as corrupting my soul. If one was to apply that sort of logic outside
of the game it would quickly be shown for what it is. I like to play around with the RPing
thing I would not or never be able to be/do irl. I like to be a loving mother or wise elder,
but also negative roles, I also like to take vengeance for slights, I think being a highway
bandit would be fun also it would be fun to overthrow a king and become the king, or to
capture the water and control a country. Maybe start a struggle for power etc etc etc. I am
not a Saint nor am I a Demon and a game about life is a nice way to enjoy things that it isn't
ok to irl.
I understand that life bleeds into games and the reverse is likely true as well, there are
things I won't do in games because I think they are just too Evil. I am sure most people can
think of some of their own things, and I am sure people have different lines they draw.
If killing is in game, we can assume that there are justified reasons in game to kill. Why isn't
people doing something you find morally reprehensible a good enough reason to kill someone
in a fucking game? Killing people for logic and math is fine but not vengeance, not righteousness,
not amusement, not malice? If not, why not?
You could say that killing the seed carrot eater is bad if you are only saving a few carrots, or
you could say that he costs 40 calories to guard them. You could also say that 40 calories a
cycle is the price of making sure you don't have to run out for more seeds ever again, that
could be worthwhile. You could also say that the Law is absolute and in this village we don't
let minor infractions slide. You could say the guard killed the last girl wrongly or in error, or
you could say that it is not the place of the Guard to change the law. Is there an
Overseer/Mayor of the village? Perhaps just a Baron (I think to be a King you need people under
you..). I think governance has a place in this game as I think it will make towns stronger,
especially as they get larger and we don't know everyone or even most people.
What is the purpose of the Law and what or whom does it serve?
I think that there will be many different laws overlapping with each other, and that some or some
combinations of them will be more or less beneficial to the villages survival. Those who live in such
villages will be able to experience the difference and over time the law will adapt to be more effective
at doing what the players want. This is probably not PURE survival but that and a mix of other
things, much like irl law is for us.
I don't really have a problem with people hiding food etc in the woods, I think if you are doing that
it is fine for me or someone to kill your char with the bow etc. I think you add depth and you make
the game more interesting for us all so thank you. I have hidden string so I could make my clothes
without people using it all, I could see a personal stash of food as something I might do, as I already
like to keep a pie or two in my pack. I will feed people who F from my pack especially if they are
relatives, and I will give female relatives my clothes if the village is in trouble.
I think there is a difference between looking out for the village at the expense of other people (eg. babies)
versus yourself. I don't only help villages and I don't only kill them, just like in regular life, lol I am not
all one way or the other.
If you can't see that it is Evil then there isn't much else I can say to you.
The Carrot Guard Sponges and YAHG are just closet griefers.
They like griefing, but don't like admitting to it, so they hide behind convenient masks and are the fist ones to talk down on people who can handle admitting the truth.
They fall within the sub-griefer category and should be handled as such. It's Grief or be Griefed.

I don't pretend to not kill people when I think they deserve it for example I support killing towns that kill all boys or all white people or all women or all brown people etc.
I would rather not start talking shit about you in public, though I am capable. I don't know, why you are trying to disparage me?
I'm filing a DMCA Takedown request as you have used my voice in the video and I did not give you explicit, written permission to do so. I will also legaly advise Telafiesta to do exactly the same.
What a fucking sperg
I was born and killed several times in a place that only had girls, I decided to make it my next target. After a few attempts I was finally born there as a Girl.
As soon as I grew hair I started stashing stuff stuff behind trees. The Blacksmith noticed her tools missing and the baker noticed her pies going missing, no one suspected me tho.
By the time i was older I had hidden stockpiles of pies and weapons. As I predicted many people started to starve to death, made my job eaiser.
Funnily enough I witnessed a women starve right next a cluster of hidden pies. With thr village weakened and all the weapons in my possession I finally revealed myself and killed the survivors.
Good on you, those fuckers deserved it.
None of you retards would be pissed if he did it because they killed him every time as a brown baby, so fuck off.
If I am born into a village that kills all the boys I will probably kill them as well.
They shall reap what they sow..
Like pein says seeds should not be in same plot.
I would add that you should leave bits of food about near work locations so people less likely to starve.
Also explain to nearby people why you do stuff sometimes, a lot of people will only learn from in game sources, we are one of them <3.
YAHG wrote:I wonder if your bow range is increased via this mod?
Bow range is three tiles, so nope. However, this is hugely advantageous for scouting and learning the layout of your area. I often spend the first few minutes of a life working out where things are, and this mod would mean I wouldn't have to do that at all. I'm not sure how I feel about it, but it definitely changes the difficulty of the game by a huge degree. Would do a lot to making griefing easier to identify, and aid in communication - both huge pluses both for balance and for RP/culture. Hypothetically, I think it'd be fair to remove the food bonus entirely, if this was made widely available.
I am gonna try it I am thinking, also want to try the type numbers thing. Wizard powers and shit.

I've been think about griefers and have an idea but I am not sure how feasible it is implenting it.
What who ever started a town or where the most senior elders of that town ever given the ability
for others in the town to do certain actions. They could decide if someone was allow to harvest
resources in town, deconstruct structures, build new ones, or even interact with items on the
ground. This could be based on everything within so many tiles of a home marker or something
similar as to how wide its effect would be. If a child started eating all the carrots for example and
you had been in the town caring for it a long time you could uncheck their ability to pick or eat carrots
in town. This would limit, but not eliminate their damage as not everything can be monitored 24/7.
If they wanted they could still leave town and try to live in the wilderness or start their own town.
Those who have the most time vested in a town are least likely to destroy it. When the eldest generation
or group passed away the next oldest would inherit this ability. If you wanted your town restricted you
could do so, and if not you could just ignore this feature. Also for the affected area you could uncheck
murder as an option, unless you wanted that.
Maybe after you had nanotech implants inside your citizens.. Then we could have 1984 mode like you are suggesting. ![]()
Being a seed guard means you spend five minutes of your life protecting 7 seeds. This means you're costing your civ about 60 calories - that is a lot!!! If you're really in such a food insecure position, you should be culling the herd, not wasting calories. You should always have a backup seed row hidden away anyway. You could spend those 60 calories foraging for seeds as well.
If you let a 4 carrot row seed, then you should be killed (pls don't take out of context).
Well maybe a small time farm with 7 seeds won't use a guard, maybe if they are 28 seeds?
How you know how many calories that is? I assume you mean hunger boxes right?
