Yes please. A fresh grave could also still have a name, since you should be able to recognize recently deceased people.

THIS, I think it will help us solve murders

Meh, killing other players is part of the game, otherwise you wouldn't be able to target people with weapons..
If you could stab them back while you were bleeding out it would be no problem at all, they could only get the unarmed..
They are slowed after a kill anyways, so it should be easy enough to take em out with you.

Karma system is useless, how many times do we have to rewrite it why it is not viable. It wont be implemented.

But the Iron handcuffes that keep the players and make him unable to disconnect is super needed, we need slaves to be sold. Doesnt decay and stay until it got remove by the key or pickaxe, pickaxe destroys iron handcuffes. I am in favour of this, don't post that on reddit, people put me 0 everytime even if it is a good add. Griefers hold reddit.

The handcuffs would be useful so we can have a trial and execution, right now you kill the killer and they assume you are the killer.

There is good reasons why our cultures have so many rituals surrounding justice and especially capital punishment.

If the killer disconnects, they are gone for 3 hours, sorta proves their guilt pretty much anyways.

If you could just stab em back while you were typing in red it would be fine. Just kill em back, so they gotta make it worth it.

#1032 Re: Main Forum » If you want more town connections. make roads » 2018-05-08 02:45:57

Is it possible to interact with roads? I thought they just got culled..

Perhaps wooden posts, they don't need the middle log I think if people who use the paths just touch the poles along the way, they should stick around for the next traveler.

If they snake out in cardinal directions Eve's are likely to find our villages.

#1033 Re: Main Forum » N/A » 2018-05-08 01:46:32

Sounds cool. I wonder who won the war!

#1034 Re: Main Forum » How to deal with different opinions on the internet. » 2018-05-08 01:41:58

I have NEVER seen the OP's strategy work. It does sound nice at least though lol.

#1035 Re: Main Forum » An other way to become a hard game and unite people. (suggestion) » 2018-05-08 01:21:34

I don't think npc's are going to make it in other than the Satan bot etc. I do think that family home marker is cool though.

Some sort of graveyard would be more interesting that the "dump the trash" mechanic we have now.

Introducing 'THE WANTED LIST'.

In a typical MMORPG, the killer immediately displays a red name.
And there is no penalty for killing another killer.

It's more reasonable than the karma system.
Also, socially acceptable protections will be appreciated by people.
The penalty can be temporary.
For example, 10 years.

Then no raids ? Then we can't kill griefers, stealers, unwanted kids, lazy people or over eaters, people that insult ? It means we would have to work twice harder or even more to prevent all or kill ourselves everytime somebody is doing wrong

Aye this, killing is needed. Other than the killed coming back for vengeance (too gamey/meta imo) it is
working just fine. MAYBE it could be easier to find out who the fucking killer is/was though but I might
just be a shit detective so <3

Woolly mammoths and stone spears would be excellent. Would need a couple men to surround it so it can't run, then a few spears to kill it. All that meat and fur would be nice.
We could be living in a future where we brought back mammoths from extinction. Easy.

I don't know what Mammoths ate, like plants but I don't know what kinda plants. I know that at least in the
USA there are LOTS of Elephants in the Zoos. I don't know if they escaped they could survive in the wild?
Expand into higher latitudes..
Growing longer fur might only take a few thousand years.
Large animals like the Bison would likely make a recovery given humans reduced to near extinction. Deer
and Wolves would EASILY be back within 100 years to pre-European arrival levels.
Problem is none of these animals are beyond a single hunter to take down with spear/bow etc.

#1040 Re: Main Forum » A leson to the "No Boys" civs. » 2018-05-07 06:59:46

It would be cool to have seed settlements! We could trade fresh furs to the center cities for a sheep!
It would be a good trade or other things, like a cart of baskets of iron for a cart of mutton pies <3
The city would also be lacking in wood for the forge, perhaps there would be other things maturer cities could have to trade as well, maybe soil?
Rocks are good trade goods too, they end up getting picked clean. The forages always out hunting for more goods.

I think maybe the game being so difficult brings out the worst in people? Everyone constantly struggling to survive creates vicious competitiveness.
Communication being very limited on top of that doesn't help any.

Maybe. It always seems to me that the murders start once your camp is a lil richer and people aren't so busy surviving.

Mending Wall
BY ROBERT FROST

Something there is that doesn't love a wall,
That sends the frozen-ground-swell under it,
And spills the upper boulders in the sun;
And makes gaps even two can pass abreast.
The work of hunters is another thing:
I have come after them and made repair
Where they have left not one stone on a stone,
But they would have the rabbit out of hiding,
To please the yelping dogs. The gaps I mean,
No one has seen them made or heard them made,
But at spring mending-time we find them there.
I let my neighbour know beyond the hill;
And on a day we meet to walk the line
And set the wall between us once again.
We keep the wall between us as we go.
To each the boulders that have fallen to each.
And some are loaves and some so nearly balls
We have to use a spell to make them balance:
"Stay where you are until our backs are turned!"
We wear our fingers rough with handling them.
Oh, just another kind of out-door game,
One on a side. It comes to little more:
There where it is we do not need the wall:
He is all pine and I am apple orchard.
My apple trees will never get across
And eat the cones under his pines, I tell him.
He only says, "Good fences make good neighbours."
Spring is the mischief in me, and I wonder
If I could put a notion in his head:
"Why do they make good neighbours? Isn't it
Where there are cows? But here there are no cows.
Before I built a wall I'd ask to know
What I was walling in or walling out,
And to whom I was like to give offence.
Something there is that doesn't love a wall,
That wants it down." I could say "Elves" to him,
But it's not elves exactly, and I'd rather
He said it for himself. I see him there
Bringing a stone grasped firmly by the top
In each hand, like an old-stone savage armed.
He moves in darkness as it seems to me,
Not of woods only and the shade of trees.
He will not go behind his father's saying,
And he likes having thought of it so well
He says again, "Good fences make good neighbours."

Maybe more dangerous hunting with knives, killing bears or perhaps Mammoths (I know they are extinct and this is rebuilding civilization game). Would be cool if there was more interesting ways to hunt than snare rabbit if it has kids.

If there was some cool way to hunt that worked better with larger teams of people.

This is why it is good to name kids, so you can identify em

Such awesome commentary, dang.

I know there's good, idealistic reasons to care for every child I have, but when I'm in the moment, as an Eve or Eve's daughter, struggling to survive, I still can't bring myself to risk giving my energy away to yet another boy.

Does that make sense? I'm having trouble explaining myself.
I feel like I should feel bad about abandoning a child, but my selfish survival instinct overrides my empathy, or something.

Well, also I know the player (the child's soul) doesn't actually die and they will get another chance. I wouldn't actually abandon any child in real life in a survival situation. (Or maybe I would if it were prehistoric times... I don't really know).

Yeah it is rough, way I see it is I am only gonna live for an hour anyways..

I can die trying to help us both live and respawn myself or I can leave em out in the cold..

One thing I like to do is ask them "Do you want to live?" sometimes I will tell them (while
standing in warm tile of course) "We are very poor but we are trying" "Do you want to be on our team?".

Today I stood by the berry bush with my only baby after I asked them if they wanted to live,
they had said "f" but they didn't have it in them I guess to answer the direct question so I just
stood there and let it hang in the air. I told them I was ok with dying if they didn't want to live,
then I starved in front of the food to show them I meant it.

You can live and you can die and you and live and die again. You don't have to get hung up on
not being able to survive and you can keep yourself in the process,at least that is what I think.

I don't like to keep babies if they wont affirm their choice of life. I also won't chase suicides.

edit: said something wrong

i wish OHOL would have more options & features to nurture in game community & peaceful, helpful, supporting each other features,
actually any option other than talking
options that don't circle around bare functionality & tech progression but which nurture a sense of belonging

i had some very lovely experiences in this game also with people i oc don't even know who they were,
that's why it makes me so sad, when any of those precious relationships was destroyed & it is so easy to cause destruction in this game & pile destruction upon destruction
& it also makes me sad that destruction is being accepted, tolerated & even excused with phrases like "it's just a game",
if a game doesn't count to be played so what for i am wasting my RL time with ?

anyway, very lovely story about a unique life, thank you smile

ty ty always remember you can still have fun even when you are doomed. It was
cool to teach people bout how to live in tough spots even if we don't make it. <3

I forgot to say I EVEN saw someone do the secret trick I teach my lil kids about how to do hugs wink

We were all naked and starving when I was born but they KEPT ME we
were a little tribe of a half dozen people, mostly children..

I only had two then three letters, but I told them over and over till they
listened to me. We had three carrot plots planted and over a dozen empty
soils, we had a four ponds and desert.

I begged them to stay warm, stay in the spot and just let the carrots grow
and seed. I told them all I knew about temperature and how to run and stay
warm. They actually fucking stayed in the spot, the spot that was warm like
fire.. perfect....

It was so tight, the old lady left us huddled children by the edge of the desert
as I told the lil ones to stay put and not wander. One of them "F"ed but I was
not old enough to milk yet. My milk came in just in time and the lil one lived,
but I was now almost dead. I told them how it was ok that we were gonna die
now, but that we lasted a long time because we played smart, and we can learn
from this in our next times and stuff. There wasn't much to do but talk. If we had
tried to stray we would've been doomed anyways, none of them could even pick
things up.

Then as I was letting go of my life inside, she came back.. the old lady came back with
cactus fruits! I ate I nursed everyone and the seeds came in!

<3<3<3<3!

We planted and watered and we started to turn it around, by now everyone knew
about temp and how to save calories and we were a lean efficient troop of people!
People got jobs and did them mostly.

At the end I was trying to forge tools for when our hoe would eventually break etc.
a lil baby was around when I was trying to find myself a smith's helper. After all having
someone to just hammer the wrot can make you so much more productive.

We did all four of our irons and then realized we didn't have the crucibles to hold them all.

He knew about temp so he was gonna be ok, she had the last loose carrot as the
rest were seeding and I ran off into the snow to die after saying goodbye.

I know that camp isn't in a great spot but we all persevered through hard times
together and it was pretty damn lovely.

You can tell me I am not supposed to care about other people if you want, but you
can go fuck yourself.

Anyways I really liked it and if anyone else was there it was awesome just barely surviving
with you all, we didn't starve a single baby on purpose. Was some suicides, but what can
you do bout them really?

That was the most lovely life I had in a while thank you to everyone who shared it with me <3!
