a multiplayer game of parenting and civilization building
You are not logged in.
Players are inexperienced.
Playing with inexperienced players is boring.
The game does not directly punish inexperience.
If inexperience is not punished, experience has no incentive.
If we do not punish inexperience, no one will.
Misery shall form a suitable player base.
Misery shall create a perfect society.
This is some of worst chain of logic ever.
- Starting from the lack of definition to "perfect" and "boring" wich are completely subjective (I loved teaching new players and I hate perfect town designs).
- Follow that with inexperience "not punished => experience has no incentive":
I can call in this thread the most experienced players and most of them will agree that the biggest hit to what you call "experience" was the last dance fix. Wich is oddly enough not related to inexperience not being punished but to inexperience being rewarded. Note that they are not the same. An experienced player doesn´t care if a new player is or not punished, but hell you can see Pein´s posts all around about how easy is to kill for everyone. The incentive to being experienced has nothing to do with punishing inexperience.
- "If we don´t punish inexperience": I guess is related to you and all people that like to raid towns. Yes, if you don´t punish inexperience the game actually does. It kills you if you don´t eat. It kills you if you touch some animals. So no, you are just being selfish and taking in your hands a self proclaimed goal to make everyone better by killing all people that don´t play the way you want.
- "Misery shall form a suitable player base": what in the world did you smoke, I can not believe how entitled are people these days. So not only you are deciding how a suitable player base is but also how to achieve it. Misery does nothing, misery in a game just makes you ask your money back. Top that with the premise of a parenting and civilization game and you get that in reality anyone should be suitable for this game. (we are all part of a civilization afterall).
- "Misery shall create a perfect society": This is a premise. It is personal. You can agree or disagree. Does perfect exist anywhere but in you mind? Kindness shall create a perfect society. Sounds about the same, does about a lot more and is a lot more challenging.
TLDR:
So yeah, you are just trying to justify yourself and your own sadism with some flawed retoric. The only reason you are a thing and you can kill as much as you want is because you have vitually INFINITE LIVES, ANONYMITY, SWORDS, EVERYONE IN A CAGE AND NOT A PROPER COMBAT SYSTEM. Take one card away and bye bye raids and all your mumbo jumbo.
- I have been attacked with a sword with no emote trigger.
- I have been attacked with a sword from more than 3 tiles away (I was running away from the attacker, who hit me while chasing me).
- Several times I have seen people charging faster than others to kill.
- I have seen people moving normally after killing with a knife.
Disagree, there can be no real bloodlust in a game. They are mostly repressed kids that find the one place where they can use power to inflict harm to others. Griefers don´t kill to make their family last longer or because they win resources, they kill because IRL they don´t have a way to express the anger. So basically they are pussies IRL that need somewhere to steam off (most of the time they are so family/school/social repressed IRL that they can´t even show anger). They don´t care about the game, they don´t care about their ingame life. They care to make you miserable IRL.
No to reset, don´t change the rules in the middle of an experiment. Let´s see how far can we get.
Funny enough, I started to play the last two days. I don´t want this Arc to end. Don´t get me wrong I hate the rift and state of the game, but I want to see how far away can we make it against griefers and Jason. Also I want to check how far away from the real game are Jason´s ideas. All in all, is not the lack of resources what will kill civilization, but the lack of tools to fight griefers. Think for a minute how long could this last knowing all the iron and resources lost in locked places.
my friends? I play this predominantly by myself. I'm not on the new discord for trolls. I am my own troll with my own morals. I'm here to fight. If I have a team, great. If not, then it's a free for all for me.
I play this game for fun.
I have fun wiping out villages. Especially when the village deserves it.
This is the problem. I bought a game of parenting and civilization, you bought a sandox to kill others. Who is right or wrong? Idk. All I can tell you is you are only having fun because you are abusing a system. Go play some PvP somewhere else where everyone has the same goal and the same chances, you are just a coward killing others that don´t want to fight here. Fuck you.
So you banned Morti of all people??? fucking assholes.

They signed up to moderate a forum for a game about parenting, not for
https://i.imgur.com/yA1abk8.gifYou are right. They don’t seem to care about moderating. Continue to bury the forum in spam. This place deserves that at this point.
Lawl they didn´t moderate Ollj´s mass trolling threads why would they moderate Morti of all people.

Isn´t that Monty Pyton´s King Arthur or something like that?
So griefing in game is ok and griefing in a forum not ok?
I actually like it. A lot.
These updates are literally killing it.
Yeah, its rough. I was child of eve. We had little proto-town with dry deep well and two berry patches, a couple carrots that a sheep ate, a forge, bucket, and two knives. But no other tools, including smithing hammer. I piled up some stones on a spring, but no shovel. We had milkweed seeds, but water was tough.
The options I considered were trying to join a town, or running into the wilds hoping for a lucky strike. After further reflection, we could have slowly hauled water to grow milkweed for hoes and hatches, hunted rabbits for pies, and maybe made pottery and tires to try and trade. (The one town I had seen with iron was short on pottery a few hours earlier)
Yesterday I played 2 games. In the first one I was a child from a ginger Eve. She feed me naked right next to the gate of a black family in the center north east part of the map (didn´t check the name). I had no name, my mom literally said something like "you screwed", I don´t really know why she fed me. We were denied access to the property while I tried to comunicate with the people inside. Mom just suicided I guess, I made it to chilhood just in time not to starve standing next to a berry bush.
So I started a wild nomad run. It sucked. Traveled most of the north west of the map finding nothing but dead early camps (A klin, a few stone tools, bowls, plates). I found also a property locked with no gates, with a lot of stuff hoarded inside and no one there. In the north west next to the rift I found some clothing, when I found a dead body with 3 pies and a BP I felt rich lel. Ended up traveling back with a cart of rabbits, gave them to the people that didn´t let me in in the black family. Then I went south west. I found a second black family, did something similar gave them some rabbits in their gate. I managed to sneak in and some smartass kid chased me with a loaded bow. Ended up back where I was born, they actually let me in this time. Another smartass stabbed me while I was holding a cart full of rabbits. One of the people inside saved me, she managed to understand that someone bringing rabbits is not likely to mean harm. Gave them my clothing and everything I had, I didn´t blame them for not letting me in until very old.
So, in my travels around the map I experienced:
A) There is no wild milkweed. I believe I got lucky with 2 milkweed (one was farmed in the north). I even started to think that milkweed seeds are the next thing griefed.
B) There is no wild iron. Literally zero. Several depleted veins.
C) A lot of wasted milkweed in stone tools, in some places up to 3 firebows randomly thrown away (Maybe griefers like to waste wild milkweed).
D) Most of the bananas gone (lel)
E) A lot of stuff griefed away in carts and locked properties (horses).
F) Many griefed mouflon.
G) A bunch of random wells.
TLDR: It is impossible to start as Eve because everyone else just deplete the milkweed and iron too fast. Then map is simply too small to allow for new settlements.
I just wonder what´s the big deal about breaking someone else´s game. I mean boredom may be a cause, I don´t really get it. The worst part is: griefers are endorsed by Jason. This game is not about parenting and civilization anymore. It turned into some sort of weird crafting game with PvP in it´s core but without proper PvP rules. This is a design problem, you can´t just have Rust as a father and Minecraft as a mother without serious genetic problems.
I would have loved to know before hand that part of the game was going to be fighting other families and dealing with people that don´t want to cooperate. They have the upper hand, who would have guessed anonymity turns us into full retards?
the best would be the ability to dodge reintroduced
the it's a bit of skill game and wouldn't give all advantage to the attackers
people werent so brave attacking anyone and i ocudl defend my camp against triplet griefers evenif someoen makes a bow faster than you, it can kill you by other means too, and generally better players don't kill randomly with no reason at all
revenge for a previous life is possible, but still
when i seen that soemone cant take out a knife from a basket but is killing people and convinces his kids to kill others, only then i realized how dumb is this game
Pein: It´s not going to happen. PvP skills are not part of this game. You are supposed to die to "lesser" players and deal with it.
PvE -> PvP -> PvD
OHOL is really starting to look like a masterpiece.
GL hombre.
Please im starving for new content.....
Lol you can /die already. There´s no new content for weeks.
What i would like to see in the game (next content update):
- Guns, we could start off with antique firearms, a rifle that is difficult to reload, but out ranges a bow, than maybe later add harder to make but easier to reload guns.
- Poison, shot a poisonous dart with a bamboo straw, bake pies with poison inside that look the same a s normal pies, put poison into a well to kill the berry farm. There could be different kinds of poisons, maybe some just slow you down, others make you very hungry and some kill you slowly.
- Traps / mines, you could plant them somewhere outside to protect your village, if someone walks into one, maybe he gets stuck there and cant free himself, but needs someone else to free him, or he just gets wounded and dies if no one heals him.
You are going too fast with the gunpowder tech, we need shields and armor made of steel, maybe add a spear. Traps could work, so only your family sees them like traps. Also barbwire instead of fences.
HEY OLLJ:
This is how you make a funny shitposting thread watch and learn newbie.
~fart
Lol I´m not going to say sorry. If I starve a baby there is a reason: either there are too many babies, baby is a douche or I had twins/triplets and I don´t want to risk griefers. Maybe you can kill a lineage but, all in all I say it´s just griefing. I think you are taking things too personal anyways.
Lol by the time you reach destination it is likely your mother will be dead and anything you plan as a vendetta is directed to someone else.
I´m mr meeseeks look at me!
Not this imposter
- Stones and sharp stones have 5 uses at 20% chance to use. (Same rate as stone hoes 21 uses average)
- Anything made of wood around the forge and klin at 1 tile radius catch fire (Including tools like the smithing hammer, adze...).
- Clay bowls, crocks and plates break at same rate as stones and stone hoe.
- Buckets break. You lose the rope after same 5 uses (but can be repaired with a rope).
- Snares and fire bow break after 5 uses.
- If you die before 5 you are forced to make a tutorial run.
The answer to your question is NO. We can´t all agree. Starting for the one that called you fag. Is it foul language? I believe it is. Can you kill because of it? Yes if you have a weapon. Can you have the right to do so? I don´t know if there are rights as such in this game. Everyone has his own way to see things, I´ve killed for less and have been killed for using foul language. I won´t blame you for killing but I won´t support something like an unspoken rule about killing for using x word. There is always more to it and I´m sure you weren´t called out "fag" out of nowhere.
Pein, that's an interesting idea. We'll see if it happens. I mean, all it takes is one person walking near your shaky fence w/in the first 20 minutes and saying, "Hey, wait a minute..." 20 minutes is a long time for nobody to see a fence that bisects the entire map. Also, even if you get it built, there are plenty of counters. People can build gated sections around your fence that you don't have access to, which will cause that section to rot away. Then they open the gate and everyone can pass freely again.
BUT ANYWAY: my point is that this kind of crazy emergent stuff is what I'm looking to engender. These are long-arc stories.
Rodney, yeah, a bunch of people suggested this idea over time. It was definitely not my idea. Maybe you said it first. I can't remember.
Yes, a quarter million tiles is bigger than you think. You cannot visit the entire thing in one lifetime, for example.
I was going to make it 1000x1000, but I counted the tarry spots, and realized that people could theoretically survive for 35 days in there before they run out of pump water. That seemed like too long. Even 500x500 is theoretically more than a week.
My target is more like 3 days for the entire arc from nature to crash.
But if you all die in 1 day or something, I'll make it bigger tomorrow. Promise.
- Theoretically is way off the real game. The number of tarry spots has never been an issue but how close to a town they are. I believe no town has survived for a week since forever anyways. Civilization collapse does´t come from lack of resources but from mass griefing and playerbase decline at low hours.
- I find it infuriating how far away from the actual gameplay some of your thoughts are.
