I have set up a small camp to show my friend some things she hasn't made. I died of old age so I can respawn there. But our schedules don't align until the weekend. If I change servers, can I continue to play and then change back and respawn or will I lose my camp if I do that?
I was having a similar problem, Pein. (You might have been my mother admonishing me to eat, once, even--I was actually dying of disconnection.) I was dying every 12-30 minutes and getting really frustrated.:(
I found a possible solution, if you're on WiFi:
1. Go to device manager on your PC
2. Locate the network adapter
3. Expand it, find the wireless adapter
4. Right click it and go to properties
5. Change the setting (mine was 802.11/b/g/n) to 802.11b/g
Fingers crossed: I've played 2-3 hours since making the change and haven't been disconnected since.
Good luck!
I think it's the logo from the main page cropped down around just the L. I'm not allowed to post links or I'd link to the image, but the white rectangle that says One Hour One Life. ![]()
Didn't I name you Kelly? I'm not sure how you got name Areana. I didn't really starve BTW, died of disconnection. Unfortunate as I pulled that base. Was hoping you'd make it to old age so you could be reborn there if you wanted. Plenty of resources available, unlike my next life lol (can't eat rocks)

My friend and I intended to become twin Eves n sever 14 tonight (so I could teach her what I know). I waited a long while on the twins screen because she was having a computer problem. The game final launched and we were both Eves. We stepped off the entry tile and one remained! I named myself (Tria, since we were unexpectedly triplets) and my friend named herself (Trio). The other didn't move or respond. I said "you're stuck" and it said her name was Stuti. Friend and I both laughed and went on with our game. Hours later, I was reading my Family Tree and realized *I* was Stuti.
The game I played (Eve Tria): id=737668
Stuti also shows in my tree (when I search based on email address): id=737385
My friend, Eve Trio's game: id=737406
I continue to get disconnected but this last time my whole wi-fi network went down. So I suspect it's probably not OHOL servers.
Is anyone else experiencing sudden disconnects tonight? I have experienced three (ages 27, 28, and 26) which is unusual. It could be my ISP of course but I think I've only ever experienced one before tonight. I thought my first game was a fluke so I was reborn, and then after I was disconnected again, I entered a server manually. That one was also disconnected after almost half an hour, so now I'm hesitant to start another game. ![]()
To Lux, I'm sorry that I was a boy, destroying your chances of being reborn there. I wanted to tell you that but you'd already headed for the berry bushes, I think. I'm glad to see you died of old age. When you come back and see my bones, and wonder why I died with stew in my hands, please know I'm not quite dumb enough to die of starvation while carrying stew--I'd just eaten and was bringing a bowl back to my part of the camp. (It was a disconnect, despite starvation being listed on family tree.)
I switched computers tonight and hopped on for a quick game. Was born into a rather large civilization--and experienced no discernable lag. I raised up a daughter and the civ was so large I couldn't find her again once she was grown, so I wandered out to explore. Was hoping for an Eve run but will have to postpone until another day. I'm excited to have some knowledge now, and hopefully better gaming speed. <3
Np lucy! Glad you had fun too ;D
Had we continued this, the next teaching after iron tools would've been stew making.
Now that would've been freaking awesome XD
That's funny--when you said you were Redbug, I immediately thought "I got the one that makes stew, and I can barely make bowls." I'll practice so can be ready to learn stew next time.
I got spoiled with all the readily available food and knew where the eggs were "this'll only take a minute." Famous last words. ![]()
I'm still slow but I feel more prepared to help my next family. See you again, I hope!
oh, you beat me again! (I had to create an account so I could post in the forum.) viewtopic.php?id=3109
Thank you so much, I learned a lot and had fun.
I experience quite a bit of lag so don't spend much time in cities and it takes a lot of time to teach myself things, alone in the wilderness. Was expecting another quick life when I logged in tonight. Had just spawned as Eve on my fist life and run south long enough to get a sharp stone and start a basket when baby daughter arrived. I thought we were goners but wanted to give her a fighting chance so found food and told her I'd just started. When she could talk she said she was Redbug. I wouldn't blame anyone for ditching me when they can eat, let alone experienced players, but Redbug just laughed when I said I was pretty new.
It turned out to be my most enjoyable session to date.
Thank you for taking the time to teach me, Redbug. As I named you the last time, my meter started to drop and I remembered I can't eat raw eggs, so I tried to run but lagged too much to make it back to camp. I am so sorry to end the training there--I know you said the next step was most important. I know better than to leave camp without food by now, I'm sorry.
Thank you for taking the time to help me and teach me so much. I hope you get to return to the fruits of your labor!
