Well you can always use a flash fire to keep the small fire up for another extra one and a half minutes. Most of the times I just get a second klin asap for charcoal purposes anyways, so even without wood for slow fire you can get around 3 to 4 minutes of fire per kindling.

Once you they get a Newcomen Hammer Blacks can make Belltowns too, and since they have horses they have the easiest time finding Browns.

Since the opener asked about power, I will say this:

Under the present state of the game it is useless to think about power, since trade is virtually nonexistent and control over any special commodity is not indicative of power.

That being said, if each race was forced to play in towns separatedly, with trade routes enabled properly on a closed system with limited resources (non infinite map or a rift), then it´s not even close. In a quantitative mesure of 100% total control it would be like:

Blacks 45%
Browns 27,5%
Gingers 22,5%
White 5%

Because:

a)Whites have no way of trading and a few pieces of paper are good enough to comunicate.

b)The main trade unit would be the rubber tire.

c)Gingers can´t do anything without rubber, making them completely dependant on the other two races.

d)Browns and Blacks have complete control over the main trade item.

e)Blacks can trade on equal units with Browns (No Black person would trade a bowl of sulfur for a bowl of palm kernels, as black you would trade a sulfur for a bucket of latex and a bowl of kernels, thus making the trade equal in value).

f)Finally Blacks have not only half the rubber production but also the horse and glass monopoly. Top that with pigments, niter and alum and you get pretty much half the game in control. It all comes down on what you don´t have. If Blacks refuse to trade sulfur then nobody has rubber.

Unless you are counting force feeding players this is almost totally random imo, there is zero way to choose your relatives or they behavior. No wonder most of the offsprings of top players live to 60 duh, they are the ones at the top. Wheter they make something with their playstyle to account for it is the real question. Based on the changes in the top 100 and my personal experience this ranking is not just random but unfair.

Yes you are right, the game is very laggy lately. For me it freezes for a second every ten or so, making it really hard to complete some tasks. I checked my internet connection too and I think there is some problem with the update, neither mod nor vanilla client work normally for me.

Worst idea ever, that doesn´t make any sense.
