a multiplayer game of parenting and civilization building

So now that jungle trees can be cut, you can clear out a jungle
make a cistern, and wall off mosquitoes by placing items into every useable tile
seems that dr mosquito stopped his practice, so they got no use anymore
walling off can happen with actual walls or 5 lines of items, which is preferably hardened row plants, but generally a ton of milkweed seed should do
the easiest way is to find a jungle with a bottleneck, you can drop rabbit bones (cornseed or milwkeed seed) to fill every tile of the jungle from one direction to other, then the mosquitoes move onto free tiles, the bones decay afterwards, no need to clean it up
if there is a jungle with 1 single tile connecting 2 sides, you need one single wall to block them out
if more than you need to wall the usable jungle from the unusable jungle(mosquito filled tiles)
this wall can be used as sheep pen wall too but then keep that side with no entrance
note that biome edges act as a wall in this case, so no need to wall every side, only in between
there might be some cases when something doesn't look like jungle but considered as such but that is a risk on its own anyway, also you might need to consider locking other animals out too
the image is just edited, havent done it yet
early game mosquitoes can kill a lineage so minimum requirements to do this are: a functioning upgraded well and ability to make more
bell bases (adze, chisel, mallet, shovel) or adobe
axe to clear out remaining trees
rabbit bones for filling every usable tile for a short while until you can make more permanent blocking, basically you just push out the lil suckers
bonus if you got a closeby pond and some tinder to be get
once is upgraded, you can get 5 water buckets for cost of one
to make jungle livable you need compost, and water runs to fill the cistern/cisterns, have a horse cart and two fences between the points, possibly a road (hand cart holds six, which is 1.5 circle on the new pump well, but you can get 4 buckets of water with one fire) and plant some trees for shafts, and pine for firewood and butt logs
why all the hassle?
the jungle temperature is evenly warm, with some clothes is very close to perfect
this cuts down the food consumption by 3-4 times, this isn't much for one person but it's a lot for a family of 20 over 10 generations, more time before getting hungry is more time to make compost, fix farms and talk to others
leave the old city to the noobs
an example of how to set up a jungle fallback city:
next step is a sheep pen to make it even faster to create compost
then plantign trees for firewood, paper and such, also milkweed farm for buckets and rubbering carts
gotta run a test once im free, so in like 2 days, meet you at my fountain

Genius! The mosquitoes doesn't leave their biome anymore?
You've dubbed this berry-cistern design the fountain?
It's neat.

the mosquitoes never left their biome, just their starting biome was not always the jungle, but they don't leave whatever biome are they in
not sure what happens when you die on the only tile a mosquito is, but i guess your bones fly away
this design is like, diamond? the cistern itself looks like a fountain
this one is 20 bushes with 16 boards, i guess you can make different designs, its more of a usability, when you got to put down the bucket and the bowls so practically you can do a lot of designs, especially with multiple cisterns
i wont do the exact same thing

The ancient Chinese advocate the combination of beauty and utility in any invention or creation.
I agree.
What's the motivation for keeping a town that is ugly, going?
Who cares about something that's pretty, but ultimately useless?

+1 for jungle meta.
3-4 factor reduction in food consumption; better than being fully clothed; better than making a room with fire.
However tiny your local jungle patch may be, it's absolutely the best place to make your home.

But (unless something changed) not all jungle trees can be cut. I'd be perfectly happy to get rid of some rubber trees and oil palms.

I aim to leave behind a world that is easier for people to live in that it was before I got there.

yeah banana gives kindling, palm gives firewood and rubber gives everything
so chop the big ones, leave some for tire making but the rest can go
you can leave some for ambiance
i like the dark green spots too
bit more technology needed but the warmth worth it long term
