I guess we will just have to wait and see what Jason decides to do about the problem, assuming he even thinks a problem exists in the first place. I proposed removing hungry work from these trees because it is an easy fix that immediately resolves the main issue. It reverses a detrimental change. But there are many other ways that these trees could be changed that would add interesting and unique gameplay.
For example, i would love to see some trees that provide more logs (balanced by less firewood) or new forest products available from swamp trees. Two-person tree sawing would be interesting and could be fun. I like the idea of adding more group activities. But of course, this would need to be balanced to discourage exploitation by twins or organized griefers. It is a complex issue that gets increasingly complex as you dig deeper into different options and alternative approaches. Ideally, I'd like the in-game system to be logical and internally consistant with the in-game reality. It shouldn't just be inconsistantly "realistic", game mechanics should match up with each other in a way that feels natural and logical based on how things acutually fit together.
