Things in OHOL that doen't make sense

This discussion is all about discussing things in ohol that doesn't make sense in real life! I got a few ones here:

- An year is a minute (Duh)
- You can use the same bowl that you used to SCOOP DIRT, COOK DYES, AND FORGED STEEL to drink milk (Communism ain't about this).
- Apparently copper is made from malachite.
- Shovels break from digging up communis-tatos.
- You can't throw bbs in wells. They also instantly learned to stand when they're born.

Anything else?

Re: Things in OHOL that doen't make sense

The limitations of what we can use to make some things. For example, we can ONLY get rope by using milkweed, when realistically there's plenty of other options- vines, for example, or straw, or even grass and bark.

The limitations of habitable biomes, and their sizes/layout. We as a species settled all over the globe, even early on in our history. However, the game limits our options to a very specific setup: Grassland and Swamp, preferably with a warm biome. Biomes are also very small atm, even to the point of not being visible from the surface, and laid out randomly. A searing desert next to a frigid arctic bordering a lush grassland doesn't make much sense as a whole.

Babies being able to walk from the get-go. At least they can't escape our arms immediately now though.

The lack of a baby sling. Hell, even ancient peoples had woven shoulder baskets or slings made of furs for this purpose. I get Jason's reluctance, wanting to make raising babies a chore.. but to think we have radios and cars, and still no option for this, is bonkers.

Lack of water sources. This one's obvious. Rivers, streams, ponds, lakes, springs, oases.. Water is a centerpoint in any civilization and has been since our beginning. Just look at some of our oldest settlements. It makes 0 sense whatsoever that our only fresh water source is from ponds in a swamp.

Or, in the wise words of Eddie..

The biggest thing is that females reproduce asexually, We basically work like bacteria. Also that babies can be breastfed while facing outwards.

Re: Things in OHOL that doen't make sense

* Standing on branch(or anything) makes you immune to bears, wolves and mosquitoes.
* We need to forge actual steel (with coal) for primitive tools, but for actual engines uncleaned iron will do.
* You need a f*ing shovel to gather poop. A clay bowl will never do, even if you are starving for compost.
* Clay bowls and plates will never break.
* Steel actually dissipates with use (the elementary atoms dissolve never to be seen again)
* Everything goes instantly. There is no time requirement to do anything.
* Sheep constantly give birth without need for food, but only grow when given a carrot/berry treat.
* Sheering sheep and let it regrow wool is actually a waste of resources. Better kill the sheep after sheering it!
* Hot stones keep being hot longer when using eggs on them.
* Some trees are just not regrowable
* Some structures are not destructable
* And don't get me started at the apocalypse "evil magic" nonsense....

Re: Things in OHOL that doen't make sense

In general Jason needs to take a step back from giving cavemen radios and address the current issues as they stand, we all know what happen with ARK: Survival after all. The developers kept updating the game with newer and newer content, never stopping to optimize to squash bugs that each release created. Only with OHOL its not bugs that are the issue, its mechanical anomalies, there should never be a point in your game where content you create is actively ignored because of the mechanics that you create. Potatoes are pointless, locks are used for greifing, and the apocalypses is without purpose.

1,280 pips just by Making Pork Tacos, Possible 2,500 pips just by hunting turkeys, and yet, somehow, yall still eating berries, bruh.

The game is in serious need of rebalancing in many areas. One can make a case tough that putting to much work in balancing doesn't make sense while your adding content at a high rate, as every new content is obviously going to skew existing balancing.

Re: Things in OHOL that doen't make sense

*You cannot make thread from a ball of thread
*You cannot stack carrots, carrot seeds, or countless other small items together on the same tile
*You cannot eat pork meat unless you make it into pork tacos
*Dead cows cannot be slaughtered for meat products
*Leaving your dead to rot in the sun is the best option for the village
*Wearing too much clothing is a death sentence if you catch a fever, but won't keep you properly warm in a grassland

I could keep going, but you get the idea.

Characters see 360 but only in a radius of a human body or two.
Humans don't blink and always have an expression on their faces.
