I like to call this series "Signs"...
Just spawned there, they look to be doing great. I was gen 10, a guy named Skye Nara. They've got... well, wouldn't call it a city yet, but a good town going. Farm, sheep pen, smithy, kitchen, and even a little area with a note that says to build walls around it and make it a house, to start off a new residential area. I was bored so I went on a bit of a dumb quest to get a pet doggo, and died while trying to shoot a wild boar for pork. Oh well I suppose. But yeah fam is doing well!
I was your Great Great Great Great Grandson:

I think they're up to Gen 13 now.
Uh, hello there daughter... this is awkward. Trust me, my life as Butch kinda soured me on the monarchy, and in my next life I warned against it when the crown was rediscovered.
If anyone sees Lana Town, that was me
@anandamide: The answer is, I would have tried to stop it, and probably had a fun time trying to stop it, had I any idea it was coming. I agree with whoever made the other thread saying the apocalypse build up should be more obvious across the map instead of a lil bell sound every once in a while that is easy to miss.
@Halfkoreangamer: I agree, as much as I'm annoyed it happened I'm also very curious to hear the story behind this apocalypse. Did anyone here contribute to it or know any stats about it?
@Anandamide: You’re playing the game one way, but some play it another way. For me, it’s less about climbing the tech tree than preserving the memories of a place -things you’ve done there, relationships you’ve formed with other players, however temporary. Plus the excitement of coming across a ruined city from the ancient days of last week, and repopulating it with your own family. I’ve noticed players seem to divide into the techies and the roleplayers, and I’m a bit more on the RP side. If you want to reach the top of the tech tree from scratch, leave the city and go to the plenty of unclaimed wilderness the big server had until right up until the apocalypse.
lol sorry for being butthurt about anal town (hehe). I would be down with the idea of an apocalypse vault, but that opens up the problem of -how many are there, how large, who decides what to put into it - etc
I agree. I've witnessed both recent apocalypses, and honest to god had no idea either one was about to happen until two seconds before. Sure, there are multiple chimes as the tower is built, but don't those happen hours apart? More ominous warning would be good.
See, I'm that asshole that just eats the pies and stew anyway, then takes one for the road. Thanks for validating my habits!
Oh that makes so much sense! If Anal Town is really Town of Bob, that would explain how my note from two or three days ago got there, and why the place looked vaguely familiar... Crazy coincidences lol.
We really need to start taking screenshots of this game more often. If anyone has any screenshots of Anal Town or any other lost city (such as Fresh Town) post them here.
And yes, I totally agree... for me, part of the fun of this game is seeing the same place in multiple lives, and seeing my family's legacy live on... Wiping the map completely destroys that and gives people a sense of futility in building new towns.
ugh yes, it just happened. I had just spawned as an eve and had a baby and everything went white and I starved to death. I somehow have been here for both apocalypses even though I don't play that much haha, just lucky I guess.
oh god no the apocalypse is happening. I BET IT WAS ANAL TOWN
@hmrka, editing because I misread your post lol. so in your early life you made it town of anal? niice. I checked your lineage - so you were Juniper? Then yes, I was your grandma Butch!! lol
@sinfulcliche, That's awesome! The Luna fam lives on. Well I think so? Last I checked it was on gen 24. I was gen 20. What's funny is, when all the queen drama was going on in my first life there, the current queen proclaimed that only someone with the last name Luna could be queen. I didn't have the name, so I was just the guard, but when she couldn't find a good successor she shrugged and gave me the crown anyway.
Anal town... What a legend. Will it crash and burn, or will it be the next apocalypse town, or will it find some peace?
The town is made up of the Count and the Luna families, so I managed to spawn there a short time apart. The first time there was a war going on over the crown, with tons of assassinations... I started life as one of the queen's guard, and ended as the queen herself. My own daughter cursed me because I was chasing a criminal and accidentally caused some... uh, collateral damage. Right before I died, I rediscovered a note with part of an HP Lovecraft quote that I wrote in a smaller town about two days ago. Did that town grow into Anal Town? Or was my note brought over from another place? So many questions.
In my second life, I was one of the children born to the few survivors of what appears to have been a great war for the crown. I helped rebuild the dying megafarm in my youth, and had many children - but unfortunately, only seven sons and one daughter. Right as I hit old age, the crown was rediscovered by a young boy doing some exploring. I cautioned him that the crown brings death, but he refused to listen. Right before I died, I made some paper and completed the quote I had started long ago. The quote is right under the Anal Town sign, for posterity. Only time will tell if Anal Town will fall into monarchy and disarray once again.
Anyone else got cool stories from Anal Town? Feel like we gotta document this place before it all comes crashing down.
karltown, were you the old pervert who just got murdered for goose sodomy in Anal Town? (wow, never thought I'd ever write THAT sentence in my life!)
Has anyone else been seeing notes by someone named Zet in multiple different cities? What's the weirdest thing you've seen? And, who is this elusive Zet person? I think the weirdest one I've seen so far was "They were supposed to be delousing chambers" or something like that. Is... is that some kind of gas chamber reference? Uncomfy. But so far the rest of them have been more wholesome.
