I think we need a trade system for this. Middle click someone, they get prompted whether they want to trade the item they are holding for yours, they accept and you automatically exchange items, provided you are close to each other. And if they are not holding anything they can just accept to be given your item the same way. So the items remain in trusted hands the whole process.
Maybe eating healthy like that could improve the health and resistance of our offspring ? So it really could pay off for the whole town and civilisation ?
Why not make their face very ugly or something like that ? So it becomes a constant visual clue
