Indeed, they just had to put whatever email/key and they could join.
Reading some topics, I understand that you can play without buying the game by connecting to a non-official server.
I bought the game but would also like to play it locally with my children. I have set up everything but I only have one account. Is there a server setting to allow clients without accounts? Or documentation about all the available server settings?

Does what you hold drop on the ground for other to pick?
What about your clothes or backpack?
In other words, what should you intentionally drop when you know you are going to die?
